Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Spacious 2 Bedroom Flat on Bermondsey St, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment rental in this part of London. But you know what? The building has this understated charm that fits perfectly with Bermondsey Street’s vibe — it’s not trying too hard, which I actually appreciate. The entrance feels residential rather than hotel-like, which makes sense since you’re basically staying in someone’s home.
The Space Itself
This four-star flat really does live up to its name — there’s genuine breathing room here, which is rare for London. The two bedrooms are properly sized (not those shoebox affairs you sometimes get), and the living area actually allows you to spread out with your travel companions without bumping into each other. The kitchen is well-equipped too — I mean, you can cook a proper meal if you want to, though with Bermondsey Street’s food scene right outside, you might not bother.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s where this place really shines — Bermondsey Street is one of those London streets that locals know but tourists often miss. You’re a short walk from London Bridge station, which connects you to basically everywhere, but the street itself has this village-y feel with independent shops and cafés. Borough Market is practically around the corner, and honestly, that alone makes the location worth it for food lovers.
What Works Well
The flat feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than a sterile hotel room — there are books on the shelves, decent coffee in the cupboard, and enough space to actually unpack your suitcase. The WiFi is solid (I worked from here a couple of days without issues), and the shower has proper water pressure. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to feel at home somewhere new.
Why Guests Love It
What I keep coming back to is how this place gives you a real London experience rather than a tourist one. You’re grocery shopping at the local Tesco, grabbing morning coffee from the corner café, and walking the same streets as people who actually live here. The 8.2 rating makes sense — it’s not perfect (the building’s a bit old, and street noise can be noticeable), but it offers something most London hotels can’t: space, character, and a genuine neighborhood feel.

Great Location with Family-Friendly Amenities
We had a lovely stay! There are many restaurants nearby, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. My child especially loved the playground just around the corner — it was definitely a highlight for us.
For a place with this kind of setup in central London, it was more than we could ask for. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped overall.
What could be improved: That said, it’s a bit of a walk from the nearest Underground station, which might be inconvenient for some. Also, the cleanliness could have been better — the floor was quite sticky, so we couldn’t go barefoot, and a few of the kitchen utensils could use replacing.

"Very good"
Very spacious for 5, beds were comfy, kitchen practical, showers good
What could be improved: Too much light in the bedrooms!
Lift was not working which was a problem for one member of our family who had a sore knee.
Prices in London are awfully high.

Spacious in a good location, clean. Good WiFi

"Disappointed"
The location in Bermondsey is very good.
It's a very warm apartment, and the main bedroom has access to the balcony.
What could be improved: The instructions, this is an Airbnb property, run from a company in Netherlands.
The lockbox for the apartment keys is inside the building, not outside.
While there is a surround sound system and a projector, there is no TV.
The apartment actually has 3 bedrooms, but the whole place does not feel lived in, the furniture it sparse and is not the most comfortable.
If all you want is a base, then this will be fine. However, if you have young children and you're not planning on going out in the evening, bring your own entertainment.
The company asks for feedback on the cleanliness pretty quickly after you check in, so take a good look around. They will also ask you if you want to tip the cleaning crew.

"Spaziosa al punto giusto"
La casa è molto accogliente e grande, a 10 minuti dal Tower Bridge.
Eravamo in 6 e ognuno aveva il proprio spazio.
Doccia calda.
Phon e altri accessori funzionanti.
What could be improved: Purtroppo, essendo in 6, avevamo 4 asciugamani. L'ultimo giorno ,pero', prima di partire, hanno provveduto a portarne altri (per quello che sono potuti serviti...)..
