Spacious 1 Bed Apartment- Close to Kings Cross Station
First Impressions
Walking into Spacious 1 Bed Apartment- Close to Kings Cross Station, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star place in Camden — but this spot surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked inside Tonbridge House, which sounds fancier than it actually is, but that works in your favor because you get way more space than you’d expect for the price. The building itself is pretty typical London residential, nothing flashy, but once you’re inside the apartment, you realize you’ve found something good.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying near Kings Cross — it’s not just about the train connections (though honestly, those are incredible). You’re right in the heart of London but in this weird pocket where it still feels manageable, you know? I mean, you can walk to the British Library in five minutes, and there’s this whole Kings Cross development with shops and cafes that locals actually use. The Regent’s Canal is literally around the corner, and I spent way more time than planned walking along it toward Camden Market.
The Space Itself
What really sold me on this place was the room — well, rooms, actually. The bedroom is properly separate from the living area, which sounds obvious but trust me, it’s not always the case with London rentals. The kitchen is small but functional — I made breakfast every morning and even attempted dinner once (successfully, I might add). There’s enough counter space to actually prep food, and they’ve got the basics covered: decent-sized fridge, proper cooktop, even a dishwasher.
Neighborhood Character
Camden gets a bad rap sometimes because of the tourist crowds around the market, but this part of it feels totally different. You’ve got proper pubs within walking distance — The Skinners Arms became my regular spot for a pint — and there’s a Waitrose practically next door when you need groceries. The streets are quieter than you’d expect, especially in the evenings, but you’re still close enough to hop on the Tube and be in Central London in ten minutes.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to win any design awards, and the building’s lift is one of those tiny old ones that makes you question your packing choices. But what you get here is actual London living — space to spread out, a proper kitchen to save money on meals, and a location that puts you right in the mix without the chaos. I’ve stayed in plenty of cramped hotel rooms for twice the price, and honestly, having a separate bedroom and a place to make coffee in the morning made all the difference to how the trip felt.
