Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Radisson Blu Hotel, London Tottenham Court Road feels like stepping into a sleek business hub that’s trying really hard to be cool — and honestly, it mostly succeeds. The lobby has this modern Scandinavian vibe that Radisson does well, with clean lines and those signature blue accents you’ll spot throughout the building. It’s not trying to be a boutique hideaway, and that’s perfectly fine when you’re this close to everything that matters in central London.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally on Great Russell Street, which means the British Museum is about a two-minute walk away. I mean, you can practically see it from some of the upper floors. Bloomsbury has this lovely literary feel — Virginia Woolf territory, if you’re into that — but you’re also close enough to Oxford Street that the shopping chaos is just around the corner when you need it. The Russell Square tube station is right there, making this four-star hotel a solid base for exploring without the tourist trap pricing of Covent Garden.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was what you’d expect from a modern chain hotel — efficient, clean, with decent space by London standards. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given), and the bathroom feels updated with a proper shower that has good water pressure. What I appreciated was the blackout curtains — essential when you’re dealing with those bright summer nights or just trying to sleep off jet lag.
Dining & Facilities
The ground-floor restaurant serves up decent international fare, though it’s not going to blow your mind. Breakfast is the typical hotel buffet setup — gets the job done, but you might want to explore the neighborhood for something more exciting. There’s a small fitness center that’s fine for a quick workout, and the staff generally knows their stuff about getting around the area.
Why Guests Choose This Spot
Look, this isn’t the most charming hotel you’ll ever stay in, but it delivers on the fundamentals in a neighborhood that’s actually interesting. The 7.2 rating makes sense — it’s solid without being spectacular. If you want to be walking distance from the British Museum, close to great pubs in Fitzrovia, and still have easy access to the West End, this place does the trick without breaking the bank. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need in London.

"Nice stay"
Close to Oxford Street and Totthenham Court Road metro station, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, complimentary waters, coffee and tea set, excellent wifi.
What could be improved: The poor sound insulation is noticeable, allowing noise from people walking in the corridor to be easily heard. Additionally, the room doors are excessively loud when opened and closed.

"Spotless hotel in great location"
Great location, lovely room, everything spotless
What could be improved: Key card wouldn't work and staff took two attempts to resolve it.
Apparently my key card had been kept too close to my phone.

"Radisson Blue Hotel, Tottenham Court Road"
Nice big bedroom, comfortable bed, air-conditioning. Loved the welcome packs. All the staff were lovely and helpful
What could be improved: The bathroom was a little cramped in places, mainly the toilet. It was difficult to get your legs in between the shower cubicle and the toilet. I'm quite tall, so I found it a little uncomfortable
I also found the sink was very low.
One bedside light was not working, and I did mention it to the reception staff.

"Very good"
The location is perfect if you want to walk. street is always busy, well lit, open space. Receptionist didnt announce my room number to lobby, that is good etiquette. Rooms are accessible via elevator which only worked with room cards, that was also a good safety measure. Hotel is silent, I didn't hear any voices from other rooms. Everything was clean, room warmth was optional, which was also nice.
What could be improved: I did like my vacation and i can stay here again, but some points ;
Sometimes no one was at the reception at night, which is actually bad. (I knew they were around but no one saw me coming in.) Other times no one at reception looked at my way whilst i was coming in, i also didn't like that.
Elevators made me wait for a long time, which is annoying, especially when you are tired.
I had to travel through a little staircase for my room, i wasnt informed about that while checking in.
They also took a deposit for the room, which wasn't informed on neither booking or in e-mails they sent. It could've been a problem if i didn't have the money.
There was no room service, only a breakfast flyer. My room didn't have a remote for the tv, i didnt need the tv but i could have. The trashbins didn't have any trashbags in them, which made me feel icky for knowing that they were used raw for every guest in toilets.

"Comfortable"
We’d returned after a few back to the same hotel & this time around as per our request we were given a better bigger room as the previous one had been really tiny & not maintained at all.
What could be improved: No full length mirror. Room size

"On the whole nowhere near the standard expected having stayed at many Radisson hotels before."
It was very warm and the beds were comfortable.
What could be improved: The bedroom was small and the bathroom was extremely small . Certainly not what was expected of a Radisson Hotel . Definitely not what was expected for the price of the stay. When we arrived back at that hotel after a visit to the theatre at 10.15 pm the lounge was closed - we were able to get a drink but the choice was to sit in the hotel lobby or to take it up to the room.

"Would stay here again, but ask for a room at the back perhaps"
It felt safe and comfortable here. Beds were comfy, bathroom was clean, no real complaints about the room or hotel. Staff were lovely and accommodating.
What could be improved: We were at the front of the hotel so it was fun people watching, but it's a restless sleep if you're a light sleeper. Single glazing meant you could hear everything outside, including blaring police sirens that go by fairly often because of course, it's London. You can also hear people quite clearly going up and down the hallways, opening and closing doors. I would not have enjoyed my time here nearly as much if I hadn't brought my earplugs.
Lights were also quite bright in the room, and the individual lights for each bed would beam down on you and give you a headache after a while.
