It’s tucked away in one of those gorgeous period homes that London does so well — the kind with original features that developers would kill for.
The Space
This isn’t your typical hotel room — it’s actually a proper loft conversion with character spilling out of every corner. The sloped ceilings follow the roofline, and there’s this lovely sense of being tucked up in the eaves of the house. The kitchen area is compact but thoughtfully equipped, which means you can actually make proper coffee in the morning instead of relying on those awful instant sachets.
Location & Neighborhood
Finsbury Park gets overlooked by most tourists, but I mean, that’s their loss. You’re a five-minute walk from Finsbury Park station, which puts you on the Piccadilly line straight into central London. The neighborhood has this genuine, lived-in feel — there’s a proper Turkish bakery around the corner, and Finsbury Park itself is just down the road when you need some green space.
What Makes It Special
The host has managed to strike that perfect balance between giving you independence and making sure you’re looked after. There’s none of that sterile hotel atmosphere — instead, you get the feeling of staying in someone’s beautifully curated home. The period details are intact (those high ceilings and original window frames), but everything’s been updated where it actually matters.

"Fabulous"
Pricy but just stunning. You have the loft with its own kitchenette and bathroom, up the stairs from the rest of the family and the house. We felt we had total privacy. It’s impeccably clean, comfortable, and just beautiful. Wish my home was like this :) nearby there are lots of excellent cafes, restaurants, a nature reserve and good old Finsbury Park, which I love. I would definitely come back and very much recommend Sophie’s place.

"Very comfy place in Finsbury Park"
The entire top floor of the building was ours. A lovely bedroom, a small but functional kitchen and a wonderful bathroom. Everything is very nicely set in terms of design and looked like everything was refurbished pretty recently. The place was very clean and Sophie was very helpful. The sofabed is very comfy even for adults. There was Tea and Coffe and the necessary basics in the Kitchen, wich was very much appreciated.
What could be improved: The the last flight of stairs up to the top floor is a bit steep and rather narrow. Wich was not a problem for us, but for people travelling with large pieces of luggage, or people that don‘t do well with stairs, should consider this.
The bathroom door and the bedroom door are rather difficult to get/stay locked.

"Perfect"
-Beautiful room with great facilities. Very clean and comfortable with lovely homely touches.
- very friendly hosts with great communication from start to finish
- warm welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble
- we weren't sure how we would feel abit being in someone's home, but it was actually really comfortable.
What could be improved: -bathroom door was difficult to close and as its part of the family home which is downstairs, it was a little strange, but not a huge problem.

What a fantastic find! Spotless, cosy and super comfy. Parking was arranged by the hosts. Lovely hosts, really helpful and friendly. Would recommend and will hope to return.
What could be improved: Everything was great, may not be suitable if steps are an issue as it's a loft stay. Eg elderly, mobility issues.
No problem at all for us though.

"Exceptional"
One night stay, two adults and a child. Beautiful home in a great location. Very short walk to places to eat and drink. Hosts were welcoming but relaxed. The loft space felt private and self-contained. Comfy bed :-)
