First Impressions
I’ll be honest — when I first heard about 3 Persons Room, 1min walk from South Wimbledon Station, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name pretty much tells you everything: it’s a straightforward, no-frills room that sleeps three people, and yes, you really can walk to South Wimbledon tube station in about sixty seconds. This unique boutique hotel without official star rating isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and honestly, that’s refreshing.
Location That Actually Works
The thing about staying near South Wimbledon is that you’re in proper residential London without the tourist chaos. Merton High Street has that lived-in feel — you know, actual butcher shops and corner cafes where locals grab their morning coffee. The tube connection is genuinely brilliant though; you’re on the Northern line, so getting into central London takes maybe 20 minutes. I mean, try finding something this close to transport in Zone 2 that won’t cost you a fortune.
The Space Itself
Look, this isn’t a fancy hotel room with marble bathrooms and Egyptian cotton sheets. What you get is clean, functional accommodation that works well for three people who don’t plan to spend much time indoors. The space is compact but cleverly arranged — there’s enough storage for everyone’s stuff and the basics are all covered. The hosts have clearly thought about what travelers actually need rather than what looks good in photos.
Getting Around and Local Life
Beyond the obvious tube access, this part of London feels authentic in a way that’s hard to find closer to the center. You’ve got Merton Abbey Mills just down the road — it’s this quirky little market area by the river that most tourists never discover. And if you’re into tennis (which, let’s face it, many people choosing Wimbledon are), the All England Club is a pleasant 15-minute walk through leafy residential streets. The local pubs are proper neighborhood spots where you’ll hear actual Londoners rather than tour groups.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
What strikes me about this place is how it solves a real problem without any pretense. You get a decent night’s sleep, excellent transport links, and you’re paying South London prices instead of central London rates. The hosts seem to understand that sometimes travelers just need a reliable base rather than an Instagram-worthy experience. It’s particularly good if you’re visiting someone in the area or attending something at Wimbledon — you feel like you’re staying in the neighborhood rather than commuting from some anonymous hotel miles away.

"Clean, well equipped place to stay for visiting London on a budget"
The location was a short walk from south Wimbledon tube and a short ride to central London.
We were given very clear instructions to enter the accommodation and while they appeared complicated we got in no problem (we also had the managers number as back up!)
The room was clean and well equipped, even with a microwave and fridge which was something we hadn't expected!
Outside our room was a communal lounge area with a projector for watching films, however we didn't use this as only there one night, but this and the large communal kitchen is a nice touch for anyone staying longer.
What could be improved: The area was quite loud at night. However we were exhausted after a day in London so we slept fine, however another guest with children weren't too happy. That said it's London and everywhere is likely to be loud!

"Poor"
The bed were clean. Close to the underground.
What could be improved: The bathroom is in dire need of an upgrade. The washer took over 3 hours to do a load and was noisy. Loud music started at 10 pm every night. Right on a main road so lots of sirens

"Disgusting place we ended up fleeing."
What could be improved: The place was filthy. Mould everywhere. Musty. The bed had crumbs in it, we ended up sleeping on the clothes we wore that day over the duvet to avoid touching it as much as possible. The room had no sound proofing from the living room, so the other guests could be heard using drugs (nos canisters), and having sex, and the gap under the door meant we smelled the weed they were smoking. We never met the owners. We had to call them for the door codes that they insisted they had already sent to us (they had not, and they send the email with the codes 10 minutes later). We got not sleep, and left the building at 6am just to get the hell out of that place. Furthermore, we were meant to stay a second night as I was travelling to London for surgery, but we ended up just getting a train home at 10pm, as staying there again filled us both with dread.

"Elfogadható, de nem biztos, hogy megint ide mennék"
Kényelmes volt az ágy.
What could be improved: A leírásban és a foglaláskor azt írták, hogy nem közös a fürdőszoba, hogy ez egy különálló apartman. Ezzel szemben ez egy közös nappalijú, kozös fürdőszobás és konyhás apartman volt, ahol 3 szoba használt egy fürdőszobát.

"Ocena wynajętego pokoju"
Wyposażona duża wspólna kuchnia, TV, niewysoka cena, bliskość metra, niezły dojazd na korty Wimbledonu
What could be improved: Maleńki 3 - osobowy pokój ok.2×3,5 metra bez szafy, brak nawet miejsca na walizki. Łazienka wspólna na 3 pokoje, zbyt rzadko sprzątana, co nie jest widoczne w opisie właściciela na Booking

"Majitel milý a ochotný člověk. Vybavení bylo víc než dostatečné, ale chyběly čistící prostředky a v koupelně nedostatečn"
Vybavení, lokalita a ochota majitele.
What could be improved: Plíseň v koupelně, kuchyni a na chodbách, kde se nevětralo.
