Overview

First Impressions

Park Avenue Baker Street sits on a quiet stretch of Gloucester Place, and honestly, that’s one of the first things you’ll notice — it’s tucked away from the tourist chaos but still incredibly close to everything that matters. The Georgian facade looks proper and understated, which I actually prefer to those flashy chain hotels that try too hard. You know what strikes me most? The staff genuinely seem to know what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given with four-star properties in London.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s something most people don’t realize — you’re literally a three-minute walk from Baker Street station, which means the entire city opens up to you. But the real gem is how you can stroll down to Regent’s Park for a morning jog or afternoon picnic without dealing with the crowds around Oxford Street. I mean, Marylebone High Street is right there too, with its independent shops and cafes that locals actually frequent (not just tourist traps).

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Clean lines, decent space for London standards, and — this matters — proper blackout curtains that actually work. The bathroom wasn’t huge, but everything functioned well, and the water pressure was solid. What impressed me was the attention to small details: good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and a minibar that doesn’t feel like highway robbery.

Dining and Daily Rhythms

The on-site restaurant serves breakfast that’s actually worth getting up for — proper English options alongside lighter continental fare. I wasn’t expecting much, but the scrambled eggs were done right, and they use decent coffee (not that bitter hotel chain stuff). The service moves at a reasonable pace too, so you’re not rushing through your morning just to check out on time.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

Look, this isn’t the fanciest hotel in London, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters. The location gives you easy access to both the West End and the more authentic London neighborhoods, the rooms are comfortable without trying to be Instagram-perfect, and the staff treat you like a person rather than a credit card. For the price point and the neighborhood, it’s honestly hard to find better value — especially when you factor in how much you’ll save by not needing taxis everywhere.

"Amazing stay in London!"
I asked in advance to stay on a lower floor, and the hotel arranged this for us. We stayed on the ground floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own restaurant with good food. Every day we received complimentary bottled water and cookies. The room was spacious for London and had everything we needed: a microwave, mini fridge, kettle and hairdryer. The heating and air conditioning were new, so the room was very comfortable. The location is excellent — very close to Baker Street Station and within easy reach of Marylebone station, which is great for travelling around London and to other cities. I visit London often, and I would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: The only possible inconvenience is that there is no lift. I requested a lower floor, and the hotel arranged it, so it wasn’t an issue for me.But if you have heavy luggage and your room is higher up, it may be uncomfortable. This is common for older buildings in this area. For us, the location was excellent, so the lack of a lift wasn’t a problem.

"It was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend and would return"
The location was very good with a choice of two stations within a short walking distance Breakfast was good particularly the option of a cooked breakfast The fridge and microwave in the room were both very welcome as were the hot drink making facilities The staff were very obliging and the property was very clean
What could be improved: Unfortunately the shower was too hot when I tried to use it at approximately 15 30 even on the coolest temperature but the following morning it was able to be adjusted to a comfortable temperature

"A welcoming atmosphere thoughtful and helpful staff and a very smart and clean hotel."
Very convenient for Marylebone station and interesting shopping ,a very good breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff
What could be improved: The room would have been more comfortable if there had been a chair rather than a stool, and if there had been a shelf in the bathroom for toilet bags etc.

"Very good"
We really appreciated being able to leave our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. The rooms were clean, and we found water, coffee, and biscuits waiting for us — a nice touch that made our stay more comfortable. It was a pleasant surprise to meet Romanian staff as well. The breakfast was varied and tasty. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!
What could be improved: The hotel is not well signposted, as the name is written very small. The hotel itself is quite small, and the reception area does not reflect the standard of a 4-star property.
