Overview
First Impressions
Orchid 2 At Regent’s Park sits on Gloucester Place in a classic Georgian terrace that honestly feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s well-appointed flat than a typical hotel. The apartment is tucked into Westminster Borough, and you know what? That location is actually brilliant — you’re close enough to everything but away from the tourist chaos that swallows up areas like Oxford Street.
The Space Itself
This three-star setup gives you proper breathing room with a full kitchen that’s genuinely useful, not just for show. I mean, the appliances actually work well, and there’s counter space to spread out if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Sainsbury’s. The room layout flows naturally — it doesn’t feel cramped or awkwardly designed like some London rentals can. The furnishings are modern but comfortable, nothing too flashy, which suits the neighborhood perfectly.
Location Perks
Here’s what I love about this spot: Regent’s Park is literally a few minutes’ walk away, and early morning runs around the Outer Circle are fantastic before London properly wakes up. Baker Street tube station is close enough that you’re not hauling luggage forever, but you’re also in this quiet residential pocket where you can actually hear yourself think. The area has that lived-in London feel — locals walking their dogs, corner pubs that aren’t tourist traps, that sort of thing.
Practical Considerations
The 7.4 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. It’s not trying to be fancy — there’s no spa or concierge service — but the essentials are solid. Hot water pressure is decent, WiFi works reliably, and the building feels secure. Parking can be tricky around here (like most of central London), so factor that in if you’re driving, though honestly the tube connections make a car pretty unnecessary.
Why Guests Love It
What really works is the independence this place gives you. You can cook breakfast while planning your day, pop out to Borough Market or Camden without the whole hotel checkout dance, and come back to somewhere that feels like home base. The Gloucester Place address puts you in proper London residential life — you’ll see the same faces at the local café, figure out which pub has the best Sunday roast. It’s that authentic London experience that’s getting harder to find.

"The communication with the host was not so good. Did not answer to some doubts sent."

"Great location! It had all the basics that we needed for our short stay!"
The location is wonderful and the facility had all the basics we needed for our stay!
What could be improved: Hot water runs out very quickly. You have to wait quite a while in between each person showering

"Good"
Location, having washer and dryer, clean, responsive host
What could be improved: Broken mirror, lots of stairs without that being clear on site, no sponge or cloth to wash dishes, slippery shower and bathroom floor with no grab bar, expensive for product

"I would book it again!"
I appreciated the fact that it was really clean! and that's essential for me. Besides, it's a sunny apartment that provides you with all kinds of appliances and coffee!, which make you feel like home early in the morning and after work or a long day.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, it was rather cold when I got there at 23:30 pm, and it took a while to warm up.

"Poor"
What could be improved: I booked for 4 nights but only stayed for two, I didn't feel comfortable, the apartment is very poor and basic for the price charged, I was disappointed with that!

"Passable but a bit bland for the price."
Clean and very central.
What could be improved: The stairs is a bit steep and dangerous if not careful. Almost fell a few times . The TV needs upgrading. SmartTV’s are very cheap nowadays. For £180 a night you definitely need to upgrade your TV .

"Great location of a clean and compact but efficient apartment very suitable for our weekend visit."
The location of the apartment was great for the things we wanted to do and see in London. The owner was responsive, especially with a last-minute booking and we received instructions for the self-check-in, which made things easy. The apartment was clean and provided what we needed as a family of 4. The facility has what we needed for a weekend visit in London. It is a compact, but efficient use of space and the kitchen has dishes and basic cooking utensils.
What could be improved: The curtains in the living room do not block as much sunlight as the bedroom ones. For those sleeping in the living room, it would be nice if it could be darker.

"Great potential let down by lack of maintenance and caring attitude"
I'm really disappointed to put a low grade to this place, because with a small investment and proper care it could be a gem. But it is what it is - and I'll try to convey what it is. The apartment is small, but there was enough place to fit a family of 4. Kitchen is very well equipped - except dishwasher everything was there. The location is great, and arriving from Luton at night was a breeze, just a couple minutes walk from the bus station, and Tube station is there too. The comfort of self check-in is very valuable for late arrivals. When everything functions, the apartment is nicely warm in cold weather.
What could be improved: General stuff:
Entrance goes into the kitchen, no place to leave coats. Dishwasher would be very welcome. Windows are old and living room is noisy (we didn't care, but noted). No storage of any kind in the living room. Water flow in the bathroom facet is weak. No curtains or any obstruction in the kitchen. Small stuff, easily fixable, but judging by the feedbacks is there for a while. And our story explains why.
Our story:
We've arrived to a frozen apartment to discover a malfunctioning boiler - no heating and no hot water. 5AM, so let's say this night doesn't count, though someone should have checked that before our arrival. Notified the house keeper by WhatsApp, and we went out to the city. Got a message that everything was fixed, we come back - another malfunction, still no hot water and no heating, and the house keeper tries explaining me how to work with the boiler instead of looking for urgent repair man, not believing that if I say hot water is still not there - the problem is not on my side. Eventually, being an engineer, by a lot of play with the system I was able to overcome the failure and we got hot water and heating working for a day - until it broke completely. So out of 4 days, heating and hot water were working 1 day.
So the low grade is for the lack of proper maintenance and caring attitude. The apartment itself is not bad, and can be made much better easily. I hope it changes.
