Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Muswell Hill B&B on Cranbourne Road, you get that immediate sense this place gets it right. The Victorian facade has character without trying too hard, and honestly, the whole street feels like proper residential London — tree-lined and peaceful, but you know you’re still connected to everything that matters. This four-star bed and breakfast sits in one of North London’s most underrated neighborhoods, and I mean that in the best way possible.
The Neighborhood
Muswell Hill is one of those areas that locals love but tourists often miss, which actually works in your favor. You’re about twenty minutes from central London, but the vibe here is completely different — more village-y, with independent shops and cafes that have real personality. The high street is a five-minute walk, and Alexandra Palace (locals call it “Ally Pally”) is practically on your doorstep. That means you can catch concerts, events, or just enjoy those sweeping views across London from the park.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that perfect balance — comfortable without being fussy, clean lines but still cozy. You can tell they’ve put thought into the details: good lighting for actually reading, proper shower pressure, and windows that open wide for fresh air (something you don’t always get in London accommodations). The beds are genuinely comfortable too — not just “hotel comfortable,” but the kind where you actually sleep well.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is the kind that sets you up properly for the day. They do a full English that’s actually good quality — none of that greasy stuff you sometimes get at B&Bs. The restaurant area feels more like a dining room in someone’s well-appointed home, and the staff seem to remember how you like your coffee. It’s those small touches that make the difference, you know?
Why Guests Love It
The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience the place firsthand. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a really well-run bed and breakfast in a brilliant location. You get that residential London feeling without sacrificing comfort or access to the city center. The Tube connections from nearby stations get you anywhere you need to go, but coming back each evening feels like retreating to a quieter, more authentic side of London that most visitors never discover.

"We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. We were very satisfied. Richard and his Family are very nice"
First of all, I must say we had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Everything was very clean and tidy. Our host was very friendly and helpful. He would have fulfilled any request within his power. The whole family was really lovely and friendly.
We felt very comfortable staying there.
If we ever travel to Alexandra Palace again, we will definitely come back.
Until then, all the best. Best regards Michael, Manfred and Leo
What could be improved: I can't find or say anything negative. If you're expecting a hotel, you'll probably be disappointed. But for a B&B, everything is very good.

Richard and Victoria were a delight and welcomed us into their home.
The house is beautiful, as is the area. Bathroom and toilet facilities exceptional, and the room was lovely. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in.

"Fantastic family run B&B in close proximity to Ally Pally with free street parking."
The property was lovely, we had a room on the top floor which was plenty of space for myself and my son. The shared toilet and bathroom have everything we needed and kept very clean. There was even tea, water and biscuits in the room on arrival and we got to meet the gorgeous golden retriever as well. Breakfast was fantastic, a wide range of continental options which kept us going until dinner! It was also great to find free parking on the street and just a very easy walk to the gig at Ally Pally. We would very happily stay again, thank you to Richard and his family for the lovely stay.
What could be improved: It was all very good, the information provided was very good and so there are no negatives.

"Lovely B&B"
Lovely B&B in a nice, quiet area, only a short walk to Alexandra Palace.
Welcoming hosts, clean room, modern bathroom and a great continental breakfast served in your room, which included a choice of cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, toast & jam, cheese, fresh coffee and orange juice. I requested a vegan breakfast and had lovely fresh vegan pastries, there was also a carton of oat milk in a mini fridge in the room for use with the tea and coffee making facilities. Would stay again if in the area.

"A fantastic, family-friendly accommodation experience"
We came to stay overnight after watching the fireworks at Alexandra Palace. Although we only stayed for one night, we very much enjoyed our visit. The owner's family live in the house and are lovely people. It felt like staying with your own distant family. Both the bathroom and our room were spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Having breakfast delivered to our room was the perfect end to a wonderful experience!
