Luxury 2BR – Steps from Oxford Circus & Soho
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first walked up to Luxury 2BR – Steps from Oxford Circus & Soho, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from an apartment-style stay in this part of London. The building sits right on Fitzroy Square — one of those gorgeous Georgian squares that most tourists walk past without realizing they’re missing something special. You know what struck me immediately? The quiet. Despite being literally minutes from the chaos of Oxford Street, this square feels like a secret pocket of calm.
The Location
This four-star spot is positioned perfectly if you actually want to experience London rather than just see it. I mean, you can walk to Oxford Circus in about three minutes, but you’re also a stone’s throw from Charlotte Street — which locals know has some of the best independent restaurants in the area. The Fitzrovia neighborhood around here is sort of the sweet spot between touristy and authentic. During my stay, I’d grab coffee from the little place around the corner in the morning, then be browsing in Selfridges twenty minutes later.
The Apartment
The two-bedroom setup actually works brilliantly, even if you’re traveling as a couple — having that extra space makes all the difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped (I made proper breakfasts most mornings), and there’s enough room to spread out your shopping bags — trust me, you’ll need it after hitting Oxford Street. The whole place feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed flat than a typical hotel experience, which I found refreshing after so many cookie-cutter hotel rooms.
Daily Life
What I loved most was how easy everything became once I settled in. Need groceries? There’s a Sainsbury’s Local practically next door. Want to grab dinner in Soho? It’s a five-minute walk through some of London’s most atmospheric streets. I spent one evening just wandering through the nearby squares — Fitzroy, Bedford, Russell — and realized this area has more character per block than most of central London. The British Museum is also walkable if you’re into that sort of thing (and honestly, who isn’t?).
Why Guests Love It
The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that rare combination of being right in the thick of things while still feeling like you have your own space to retreat to. The building itself has that classic London character — high ceilings, period details — but everything inside works exactly as it should. I think what sets this place apart is how it lets you live like a temporary Londoner rather than just passing through as a tourist. You’ll find yourself taking different routes to explore the neighborhood, discovering little pubs and shops that aren’t in any guidebook.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
