Overview
First Impressions
The London Stratford Holiday Home sits on a quiet residential street in Newham, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This apartment-style accommodation feels more like staying at a friend’s place than in a typical hotel — there’s something refreshing about having your own space in a neighborhood that’s actually lived-in rather than just tourist-focused.
Location & Getting Around
You’re about a 10-minute walk from Stratford station, which puts you ridiculously well-connected to central London. I mean, the Elizabeth line gets you to Liverpool Street in under 10 minutes, and you’ve got the Central line too. What I really appreciate though is the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park being so close — perfect for morning runs or just escaping the city buzz without actually leaving the city.
The Space
This four-star setup gives you proper breathing room with a full kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking (not just reheating takeaway). The living area feels lived-in rather than sterile, and there’s enough space that you won’t feel cramped even if you’re staying for several days. The room itself is comfortable, though don’t expect fancy hotel touches — it’s more about functionality and having your own space.
Neighborhood Feel
Waddington Street has that genuine London residential vibe — you’ll see locals heading to work, kids going to school, the whole real-life thing that tourist areas often lack. There’s a decent corner shop nearby for basics, and honestly, exploring this part of Newham gives you a different perspective on London than you’d get staying in Zone 1. The diversity here is incredible — you’ll hear multiple languages just walking to the station.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to wow you with a fancy lobby or room service, but that 7.9 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re actually getting. It’s the independence factor — having your own kitchen means you can grab groceries from the nearby Westfield (Europe’s largest shopping center, actually) and cook breakfast instead of paying hotel prices. Plus, parking is available, which anyone who’s driven in London will tell you is basically gold dust. For families or longer stays, this setup just works better than cramming into a standard hotel room.

"Great two night stay"
Great home for a short break. Clean, spacious, plenty of beds, big TV and great location close to shops, rail links and the London Stadium. Home had everything we needed although I couldn't find an ironing board, unsure if there was one hiding somewhere. Would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: Single mattresses in one room seemed pretty hard (unsure what the other room was like) but were functional. Garden was pretty overgrown and could use a tidy up but did not detract from the property itself.

"We were on the move so only came to sleep, so overall the stay wasn’t too bad. If everything is fixed . I wouldn’t mind"
The location was incredible. The elizabeth line is only 2 min away. The house was big enough foe 7 people. It was also clean which was very important.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the nobs of the doors were loose of the bathroom and toilet Z couldn’t really close the doors properly ao had to find out how to make sure no ones entered. Light also stopped working in the bathroom. The fuse got off all the time we used the microwave. At some point that got annoying. Did complain about the light and the doors but nothing happened.

"was a fantastic couple days, transport links were superb, shops close enough for food"
location was pretty good, access to transport links were great. plenty room in house for 6 of us, rooms were set out great, general thought was the beds were very comfy. Plenty of food areas around, couple supermarkets within walking distance, in general a quite area considering. House was a little old fashioned but gave us all good memories of family homes from the past.
What could be improved: House description mentioned a hot tub, that wasn't available at property, much to disappointment of a couple of the guests. Cleanliness could have been bit better, melted cheese lying within the oven, bath area showed lot staining on the bath surface, showerhead was attached to a loose wall connection, Massive television that was balanced on a small unit and a foot stool, not too secure. Couple sockets within the livingroom were not working. outside area was a great wee sun trap, but so overgrown with weeds and plants, and some wee mice that came to say hello, did not go down well with one guest..
kitchen is small, but manageable, only had one teaspoon... flooring was stained at back door, had a rug over that which when stepped on slid away, so for safety we moved it out way. and the first aid kit is very out of date,( doesn't help when you got couple paramedics with you) . Also only noticed one smoke detector, with no flashing light, no carbon monoxide detector was obvious.

"Very good"
Clean and spacious property, in great location close to Maryland station and only 10-15 minutes walk to Stratford. Host very responsive. Everything we needed for a short stay.
What could be improved: Bathroom door needs fixing as very easy to get locked in!
