Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Kings Cross City Apartment on Omega Place, you immediately get that “this is proper London” feeling. It’s tucked away in Islington, which honestly feels like you’ve found one of those neighborhoods that locals actually live in — not just where tourists end up. The building itself has that classic London character, and you know what? The location score of 9.4 they boast about isn’t just marketing fluff.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of town — you’re genuinely in the heart of everything without feeling like you’re camping out in tourist central. Kings Cross has transformed completely over the past decade (I mean, it used to be pretty rough), and now it’s this brilliant mix of new developments and authentic London grit. You can walk to Camden in one direction, hop on the Tube to central London in minutes, or just wander around Islington’s cafe scene. Couples seem to absolutely love it here — they’re rating the location 9.0 for romantic getaways, which makes total sense when you experience those quiet evening strolls along the canal.
The Apartment Experience
This four-star apartment setup is actually perfect if you’re tired of cramped hotel rooms. You get proper space to spread out, and there’s something refreshing about having your own front door key instead of those plastic hotel cards. The room layouts feel thoughtfully designed — not like someone just crammed furniture into a space and called it done. What I really appreciated was having a proper kitchen area, because let’s be honest, sometimes you just want to make a cup of tea without calling room service or hunting down the nearest Pret.
Getting Around
The transport links are genuinely excellent, which matters more than you might think when you’re planning day trips around London. Kings Cross St. Pancras is right there — you can literally walk to the Eurostar terminal if you’re doing a Paris day trip. The Underground connections mean you’re never more than 20 minutes from anywhere you actually want to be. And if you’re driving (though honestly, why would you in London?), the parking situation is manageable, which is saying something for this part of town.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is that balance between being centrally located and feeling like you’re staying somewhere with actual character. You’re not just another tourist checking into a generic hotel — you’re temporarily living in one of London’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The 8.8 guest rating reflects what you’d expect: people love having space, they love the location, and they love feeling connected to real London life. It’s particularly brilliant for couples who want to explore together but also have a proper base to retreat to. The whole Islington area has this village-within-the-city vibe that makes longer stays feel natural rather than exhausting.

"Un muy buen lugar para moverse por Londres y sus alrededores, con total comodidad."
For people over 65, the bath tube was too high and there was no handling bar to get in and out. Just a comment to improve the user experience.
What could be improved: Even though the property has an excellent location, at night. street environment is a little scary.

"Great One bed apartment in an excellent location."
An excellent base for visiting London. Very near to Kings Cross Station tube line and the train lines. Coal Drops yard is just a few minutes walk away with shops and eating options. The flat is great. Very comfortable and has everything we needed.

"Comfortable, clean and exellent location"
The apartment was a one bed place, about 300 metres from St Pancras, very clean and well fitted out. We absolutely loved staying there.

Location in relation to access to Kings Cross and St Pancras international. The apartment is a decent size and has all the necessary items.
What could be improved: Access to the unit is unusual with a variety of gates. Using a fob to leave by holding against a contact point on the outside of a gate is odd, I saw a group trying to get out of the lot, not terrible but it made me wonder if one dropped the fob and could not reach through a locked gate, it would be awkward.

"Quiet, comfortable, warm flat with all mod cons and in an excellent location."
Well equipped kitchen with all the facilties to cook a meal. Washer dryer. Good heating (was very warm in winter). Fairly quiet considering its busy location (you could hear the tube trains rumbling below, although we quickly got used to that). Great location, very close to mainline train stations, Underground, shops (supermarkets, St Pancras, Coal Drops Yard), restaurants (Granary Square, and there are also good restaurants in the immediate vicinity), and tourist attractions (Scala theatre is a stone's throw, Dickens museum 10 mins walk). Good WiFi (~75Mb)
What could be improved: Not 100% clean - we needed to vacuum the bedroom, the rug in there had a brown stain on it, and there was a brown stain on a towel. There's a slight dampness to the property, with mould around the French windows and we noted clothes not drying quickly. Some appliances weren't working correctly (dishwasher, TV, vacuum, lamp) but these things didn't badly affect our stay. The owner had made a conscious decision to not connect the TV to the aerial, so it is streaming only (fine for many, but not convenient for casual TV watching)

"Spacious alternative to hotel room"
Proximity to Kings Cross train station + underground is it’s biggest asset. It also does provide extra space when compared to a typical UK hotel room.
What could be improved: Have to figure out how everything operates. Everything is turned off, even the fridge. Spent a lot of time playing with wall + kitchen switches, and never did get the coffee maker to work. Back-alley location is not aesthetically appealing.
