Overview
First Impressions
Jenny’s Place sits on a quiet residential street in Hendon, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s that unassuming kind of place that locals seem to love — no flashy signage or grand entrance, just a well-maintained property that feels more like staying at someone’s home than a typical hotel. The three-star rating is pretty spot-on here; it’s comfortable without trying to be fancy.
The Neighborhood Feel
Hendon isn’t exactly central London, but that’s actually part of its charm if you ask me. You’re in a proper residential area where you’ll see families walking to school and neighbors chatting over garden fences. The Northern line runs pretty regularly from nearby Hendon Central station, so getting into central London takes about 30 minutes — not bad when you consider how much quieter it is here compared to staying in Zone 1.
What You Get
The room I stayed in was simple but thoughtfully done. Clean white linens, a decent-sized window, and enough space to actually open your suitcase properly (you know how rare that can be in London). There’s no mini-bar or fancy toiletries, but the basics are all covered well. The shower had proper water pressure, which — let’s be honest — sometimes feels like winning the lottery in smaller London accommodations.
Local Perks
Here’s what I really appreciated: Jenny (yes, there’s an actual Jenny, and she’s lovely) knows the area inside and out. She pointed me toward a brilliant little cafe about five minutes’ walk away that I never would’ve found otherwise. There’s also parking available, which is practically gold dust in London — especially useful if you’re planning day trips outside the city or just don’t want to deal with the Tube every single day.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
Look, this isn’t the kind of place you’ll be posting Instagram stories from, but it does something more valuable — it gives you a genuine taste of London residential life. The 7.8 rating makes sense because people seem to appreciate the personal touch and the fact that you’re getting honest value for money. It’s particularly good if you’re traveling with family or staying for more than just a quick weekend, since you get that neighborhood rhythm rather than the tourist bubble experience.
Best hotels in London blend skyline terraces, modern British style, and classic English breakfast spreads.

"Lovely Apartment for a Family"
The apartment was very spacious, beautiful and clean; located in a lovely neighbourhood with a beautiful garden you have access to
What could be improved: Collection and returning of keys was a bit stressful. You also had to sign some online documents after paying and pay a deposit which was not stated prior to booking. It should have been specified. The manager should also check the network connection as I had lots of glitches in making calls. The beds looked fragile for a heavy adult male

"Very good, just up the cleanliness a bit"
Great location for me as it was close to my friends. Lots of shops and restaurants around. Big and spacious.
What could be improved: The cleanliness of the showers could’ve been better. Also the shower holder was broken so the hand held shower keeps sliding down, thankfully after your showered.

"I love this place."
In general I like this place with large and comfortable accommodation. All things I need were there. Clean and fresh, light is bright. It's near the bus stop and tube.
What could be improved: The key is not in the same building. There should be introduction to market/shop nearby. Even google/apps works for that, sometimes guests still need to see maps directly.

"Hotel management is extremely poor. I had to pay £180 extra just to get the hotel Key"
What could be improved: First of all, the hotel management is extremely poor. The place where you have to collect the keys is about 20 minutes away from the hotel, which is already very inconvenient. My flight arrived in London at 6:00 PM, and unfortunately the key collection office closes at 6:00 PM. Even they confirmed several times that it was not an issue arriving to the hotel around 20:00.
After many phone calls and messages, the only solution they offered was that I had to pay £180 extra just for someone to come and hand me the keys. Paying that amount simply to access the room is completely unacceptable.
The checkout process was just as chaotic. I received an email and a text message with the address to return the keys, which again was 20 minutes away from the hotel. To make things worse, the address was wrong. After several more calls, they sent me to a new address… which was closed due to limited opening hours. Their excuse was that it was holiday season and that there was a lot of confusion on their side. But don’t they realize that tourists travel precisely during high season? That’s when they should be better organized, not worse.
Regarding cleanliness, the experience was also disappointing. The mirrors were not properly cleaned, and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell, which is something very basic that should never be an issue.
It’s important to highlight that all of this chaos was caused entirely by the hotel’s administration.
On the other hand, Booking.com handled the situation extremely well. They supported me 100%, even calling the hotel directly to try to help resolve the issue. A big round of applause for them for their professionalism and support.
Overall, between the terrible management, unexpected extra costs, total disorganization, and poor cleanliness, I can confidently say that I would never stay at this hotel chain again. I hope this review helps other travelers avoid such a frustrating experience.

"TORTURE , HORRIBLE , a stay from death."
This host is a scammer , do not believe anything from their listing. The worst experience I’ve ever had in my life for someone who’s been travelling for 7 years I’ve never experienced a host like this
What could be improved: The appartment block stinks of weed. Whoever is their neighbour was smoking up all day everyday , a few things broken in the apartment already , very annoying to deal with.

"All in all, it was a good stay and the apartment was ideal for us, would definitely recommend it, just a shame that we h"
Good location, all amenities we needed in the same area
What could be improved: Wasn’t very clean when we got there. Had to spend an hour cleaning it ourselves.
The kettle was really bad, looked like something had been in the kettle, not sure what. We just left it, had no tea or coffee for the entire stay.
Microwave had crumbs in it from previous use.
Hob was dirty.
