Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Inhabit Queen’s Gardens, a Member of Design Hotels feels like discovering a well-kept secret in London. Tucked away on a quiet garden square in Bayswater, this five-star boutique property doesn’t scream for attention — it whispers sophistication instead. The Victorian townhouse facade blends seamlessly with its neighbors, but step inside and you’ll immediately sense something different about this place.
The Eco-Luxury Experience
Here’s what genuinely surprised me: Inhabit has managed to make sustainability feel luxurious rather than preachy. The lobby showcases reclaimed materials and living walls without feeling like a museum exhibit. You know what really impressed me? The air purification system actually works — I could tell the difference within minutes of entering my room. They’ve installed these high-tech filtration units throughout the building, and honestly, it’s something you appreciate more than you’d expect in a city like London.
Location & Neighborhood
Queen’s Gardens sits in that sweet spot where residential London meets tourist convenience. You’re a five-minute walk from Hyde Park’s north entrance, and Bayswater tube station is practically around the corner. I mean, you can reach Oxford Street in ten minutes, but the immediate area feels refreshingly calm. The surrounding streets have that authentic London residential vibe — tree-lined, quiet, with charming mews houses and local cafes that actually cater to neighbors rather than just tourists.
Rooms & Design Details
The rooms lean into minimalist luxury without feeling stark or cold. Natural materials dominate — think sustainable wood, organic cotton linens, and stone accents that create this zen-like atmosphere. What I loved most was the attention to sleep quality: blackout blinds that actually block out light, premium mattresses, and those air purifiers I mentioned earlier. The bathrooms feature rainfall showers with eco-friendly toiletries that don’t compromise on quality. Storage is cleverly integrated, which matters when you’re dealing with typical London hotel room dimensions.
Why Guests Love It
The restaurant focuses on plant-forward cuisine that even dedicated carnivores will appreciate — their weekend brunch has become something of a local favorite. But what really sets Inhabit apart is how they’ve reimagined luxury hospitality for travelers who care about their environmental impact. The staff genuinely knows their stuff about both the local area and the hotel’s sustainability initiatives. You’ll find yourself chatting with reception about the best walking routes through Hyde Park or getting recommendations for independent shops in Notting Hill. It’s that rare combination of conscious luxury and genuine London hospitality that makes this place memorable rather than just comfortable.

"Superb"
The homely design, really modern
The location is superb
What could be improved: Some of the rooms layout can be so small you can’t even keep a luggage open

"Good friendly hotel but firm bed."
Close to Paddington, smart reception/coffee/bar area with a library (small room for 4) to use for meetings and friendly staff.
What could be improved: Bed wasn’t the usual “Marriott” standard and bathroom needs shaving mirror and light.

"Superb"
The rooms are small but extremely well organised, to the point one won't regret their size. The staff is superb (thanks Rehana!) and the location is quiet although walking distance to the tube and rail.
What could be improved: The only thing not to like is the size of the bathroom sink: that size is good for a guests toilet, not for a bathroom.

"Lovely stay in great, quiet area with healthy, delicious breakfast."
Very comfy bed good shower. Excellent healthy breakfast. Staff helpful - got into our room early which was so appreciated as arrived early morning and after long flight.
What could be improved: Difficult to dry hair as unable to reach mirror ! Small room but expected that in London and had all we needed.

"Very nice design and staff"
Nice design hotel
What could be improved: No suitable breakfast option for a child. He’s not eating: blue spirulina shots, chia muffins and other hipster vegan stuff. I liked it though, but for a child its notallways suitable

"Very pleasant stay.i definitely will goback"
Modern interior decoration, we chose a standard room, where we spent 3 nights, it was small but very well designed to maximize the space. excellent sound isolation. We recommend rooms third or fourth floor, street view. Very pleasant lounge, good breakfast.
What could be improved: The first night we were given one room, ground floor, dark, no vew a’tall. AC wasn’t working, noisy and impossible to switch it off. The night staff wasn’t competent enough to solve the problem. Avoid room 016! Unless you are offered a sound discount. Luckily we change room The following day and we were perfectly happy with the new room we obtained.

"Nice stay near Paddington station"
Lovely staff, clean surfaces, nice beds, the twin room was very spacious. Breakfast was really nice too, though a bit pricey but that's what London is.
What could be improved: We stayed at the lowest floor and there definitely was a dusty/moldy smell in the hallways, a bit of that in the room though a/c helped. The shower drain smelled quite bad, too. If you're really sensitive to odours, ask for a higher floor!

"Cosy"
Very clean and cosy. And Fernando at the café is really great.
What could be improved: I was asked to pay again upon arrival, as I was told my initial payment had been declined on the Booking.com website due to “insufficient funds.” However, I had already booked and prepaid through Booking.com and received a confirmation without any issues.
It later became clear that the hotel was simply waiting for Booking.com to process the payment on their end — this had nothing to do with my own transaction. As a result, I ended up being charged twice.
I found this experience very frustrating, particularly as the issue was misrepresented as a problem on my side. The payment through Booking.com had gone through as usual, so I fail to understand why incorrect information was given. Is this simply a way for the hotel to hold on to guests’ cash for a few days?
