Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hub townhouse feels like discovering someone’s impossibly stylish private residence tucked away on a quiet Mayfair side street. The building itself — a classic Georgian townhouse — doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside, which honestly made me double-check the address. Once inside though, you immediately get why this four-star property has such a strong following among travelers who prefer intimate spaces over massive chain hotels.
Location & Neighborhood
Shepherd Street is one of those lovely London addresses that locals know but tourists often stumble upon by accident. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Green Park tube station, which means getting anywhere in the city is ridiculously easy. What I really appreciated was how you can slip out the front door and find yourself browsing the shops on Piccadilly or wandering through the quieter residential streets of Mayfair — it’s like having the best of both worlds right at your doorstep.
The Room Experience
The rooms here aren’t huge (this is central London, after all), but they’re thoughtfully designed in a way that makes every square foot count. My room had these beautiful original period features mixed with modern touches that actually worked together instead of fighting each other. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable — and the bathrooms feel more spacious than they actually are thanks to clever mirror placement and good lighting.
Dining & Social Spaces
The ground floor restaurant and bar area becomes the heart of the place, especially in the evenings. It’s got this relaxed, almost residential vibe where you’ll find a mix of hotel guests and locals who’ve clearly made this their neighborhood spot. The menu isn’t trying to reinvent British cuisine, but everything I had was well-executed and reasonably priced for the area. The morning coffee situation is particularly good — they take it seriously, which any caffeine-dependent traveler will appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Hub townhouse apart is how it manages to feel both professional and personal at the same time. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy working there, and they remember details about guests without being overly familiar. You know what really impressed me? They had thoughtful touches like proper hangers in the closets and decent Wi-Fi throughout the building — small things that show they actually understand what travelers need. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the stuffiness that often comes with Mayfair addresses.

"Gorgeous flat in a great location"
Very central location, easy to walk to anywhere in central London. The building is located on Shepherd Market which has lovely, lively restaurant / pub / cafe atmosphere with no through traffic so noise is minimal after pub closing times. The flat itself was airy, light and well appointed with comfy beds. Would definitely stay here again.

"Overall, a very good stay in a great location and plenty of space for three adults."
The property is located in a safe, central, upscale area of central London, within walking distance of numerous tourist attractions, shopping and nightlife.
It was clean and had sufficient linen, and towels provided. I liked that mobile chargers were available.
It’s a great alternative to a hotel if you’re travelling as a family or group of friends.
I was not bothered by any noise as some of the reviews I’ve read.
What could be improved: The WiFi was unreliable and when it worked, it was slow compared to what one would expect from a London property in 2025. We weren’t able to reset it so ended up using mobile data.
The floor on the loft appears unfinished. I’d suggest adding hardwood flooring or at least finish the paint job.
The bathroom is very small (not unusual for London) with a slightly odd layout with the mirror above the toilet rather than the sink (due to a window above the sink). The shower door didn’t close properly and the shower mixer button was hard to move and should be fixed or replaced.
There’s no furniture on the terrace. This should be an easy and cheap thing to fix for the owners.
There were a few coffee pods and toilet paper provided, however not enough for a week’s stay. I appreciate guests may be expected to buy these items themselves, but it’s such a small cost relative to what we paid for a week’s stay so I’d rather have the price marginally increased and have it covered instead of having to go shopping.
Our apartment was in the top floor without elevator. We knew this beforehand and it’s not unusual for properties in London to not have elevators. With that said, even for three mid-life healthy individuals, it was a bit of a challenge particularly with suitcases. It wouldn’t stop me from staying there again, but if your elderly or disabled, consider this.

"Highly recommend"
Fantastic size of the apartment - just like in the photos; Excellent communication - they checked in regularly to see if there were problems; Fantastic location. We were very happy.
What could be improved: The stairs, but that's what you'd expect for an apartment on the top level.

"Very good"
Spacious with balcony. Quick responsive staff. Location is excellent
What could be improved: Flat 4 the door has no inside locks and the entrance code is easy to guess. The stove did not work at all. Bathroom is cold as the heater did not work either.

"A bright, well-located apartment with great hosts - just be prepared for some construction noise."
As a solo female traveler, I loved the apartment’s proximity to parks, public transit, and fantastic restaurants. The hosts were incredibly accommodating with my late checkout request, and the space had plenty of natural light. While there’s no dedicated work desk, the kitchen table worked just fine.
What could be improved: Major construction nearby, with heavy trucks operating late at night (past midnight) and early in the morning (3 AM, 5 AM), even on weekends. While the hosts have no control over this, light sleepers should bring earplugs. Noise from nearby pubs dies down around 11 PM.

"I loved it!"
Honestly, I liked everything: location, accomodation, facilities, etc... except the stairs! It was perfect. Congratulations!
What could be improved: With the purpose of improvement, I have to mention that I got somewhat confused with the doors opening system. It happens that I received a flyer showing an old mechanical device, with 4 numbers and explanations about how it worked. But, at the same time, I received a written explanation mentioning a code of 6 numbers! Surprisingly, at the door there are 2 devices, one with 4 numbers and another with 6. I recommend to update the flyer with instructions / video showing the current electronic device that is being utilized.

"Very nice apartment but noisy neighborhood"
The location on one hand side is really great; spacious, cosy, very well equipped, close to the tube. On the other hand side the neighborhood is very noisy as there are lots of pubs and restaurants around.
What could be improved: The dirtiest windows we've ever seen in an apartment. The noise from the neighborhood and the smell of the restaurant below. Lots of trucks are un- and uploading from the early morning at 6am to late night.
