Overview
First Impressions
Hotel CG London sits on a busy stretch of Golders Green Road, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. The entrance is modest — no grand lobby or doormen in tailored uniforms — but that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star property feels more like a well-kept neighborhood secret than a tourist trap, which I think works in its favor.
Location & Getting Around
Golders Green isn’t exactly central London, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The Northern line runs straight into the heart of the city from here, and the tube journey to Camden or King’s Cross takes about 20 minutes. The area itself has this lovely residential feel — there’s a proper high street with decent shops, and Hampstead Heath is close enough for morning walks if you’re into that sort of thing.
The Room Experience
I stayed in one of their standard rooms, and while it wasn’t huge, it felt thoughtfully designed. The bed was comfortable (always my main concern), and there was enough storage space for a week’s worth of clothes. What I appreciated most was the decent Wi-Fi and the fact that the room actually stayed quiet despite being on a main road — proper windows make all the difference.
Practical Details
The hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, but there’s a breakfast area that serves a continental spread — nothing fancy, but coffee was strong and there were proper pastries. Parking can be arranged, though you’ll pay extra for it (this is London, after all). The staff were genuinely helpful when I needed directions to a particular market in the area — they knew their neighborhood well.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Hotel CG London — it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. You’re getting clean, comfortable accommodation in a part of London that feels authentic rather than touristy. The 8.1 rating makes sense when you consider that most guests seem to appreciate the straightforward approach and the value for money. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly, then head out to explore the city.
To book hotel in London for fashion week buzz, travelers reserve early to pair Westminster sunrise walks with evening pub rituals.

"Great stay in area that worked for us for London"
Stayed in this location before, so knew what we was getting, but not this hotel. Super little tidy hotel, great room and exceptionally clean, also had a fridge which was a bonus along with biscuits and refreshments in the room and also the entrance - free coffee/tea etc. Great shower and a decent size bathroom for what was needed. The only downside was the bathroom sink (more use for a cloakroom bathroom than a hotel room bathroom) - way too small, water all over, really could have been bigger size, though didn't spoil the stay, just wasn't right for that bathroom. All in all a good stay and will certainly stay again as we visit London quite a lot and is easily accessed via the tube. Also has car park space.
What could be improved: Bathroom sink - way too small for the bathroom, cloakroom sized!

Great location, safe area and convenient distance from train station and shops.
What could be improved: No hot water for the entire stay. We could not shower and had to use the sink to wash.

"Great place if you arrive late or leave early for the airport by bus"
Great place - especially if you have an early flight and need to use the National Express busses to go to the airport - this was my main reason to book in Golders Green. It takes 30-40 minutes by the Northern line to get to the central parts, but it's not a big problem if you plan ahead. You have supermarket in a walking distance, a pizza place and few other markets. So the location is great. We didn't meet the staff, but they were communicating with us via mail and messages and we had all the information we needed to find the place, check in and check out. The room (Delux) is very cozy, small, but with big comfortable bed, everything is new and clean; the bathroom was big enough and also clean. There is a radiator and a fan, but we didn't use them, it was warm enough. The window opens to let fresh air. We had everything we needed - a fridge, hair dryer, tv, hot water jug, complementary tea, coffee. There is also a small kitchen next to the room and a coffee machine with really good coffee. We were pleasantly surprised by all this and we definitely recommend the hotel!
What could be improved: There is no reception, so you can't leave your luggage before the check-in hour (after 14h). There isn't that much space for big suitcases in the room, which is very typical for London, but you can keep it mind while planing the trip. There are several small lockers and hangers, which are useful.

"London weekend stay!"
Great location, spotlessly clean and my room was really nice and bright. I stayed over a weekend which also meant no parking restrictions for street parking. Would 100% book here again. Chap I spoke to at check in was really helpful. Everything you need is at hand. Great!
What could be improved: Only tiny issue I had was given the wrong code to access my key, but wasnt a huge deal, sorted quickly and wouldn't deter me from booking again.

"Lovely stay, nice spacious and modern room with kettle/teas/coffees etc provided."
Location was just over a 5 min walk to the train station and was in a quiet area which felt safe. We were able to park at the hotel and had a garden room which was lovely. The staff waited for us to arrive as we requested early check in, we were a little late but they still waited around for us.
What could be improved: The shower was a bit tricky to work and didn't seem to be plumbed in properly as it was squirting water all out the top, but as long as the glass door was in place then it generally contained most of the water.

"Very good"
Really clean and comfortable space. Quiet place to stay, aprox.15 minutes walking to Golders Green underground and National eExpress buses.
What could be improved: Missing a space to cook and eat (we booked a room deluxe). Take in account that you have to eat outside the room (there is private entrance to the room, a yard with a table and chairs) or at restaurant or buffet.
