The King’s Cross Stylish Suite sits in this gorgeous Georgian square that honestly feels like a bit of a hidden gem in London. Mayford House isn’t flashy from the outside, but once you’re up in this three-star place, you get why they called it “stylish” — there’s definitely thought put into the design. The building itself has that classic Camden character, you know, the kind where you feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual history rather than some cookie-cutter hotel chain.
The Neighborhood Advantage
What I really love about Oakley Square is how it manages to feel residential and peaceful, even though you’re literally minutes from King’s Cross Station. I mean, you can walk to St. Pancras in about ten minutes, which is incredibly handy if you’re catching the Eurostar or just need to get anywhere in London quickly. Camden Market is right there too — actually walkable, not the “walkable” that means twenty minutes of trudging through busy streets.
The Space Itself
The room setup here is what makes this place work, honestly. It’s more like a proper studio apartment than a typical hotel situation, with a decent kitchenette that actually functions (I’ve stayed in places where the “kitchen” is basically decorative). The styling leans modern without being sterile — think clean lines but with enough personality that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping in a showroom. The space feels bigger than you’d expect, probably because they’ve been smart about the layout.
Practical Matters
You’re not getting room service or a fancy lobby restaurant here, but that’s sort of the point. This is more about having your own little base in London where you can actually live a bit — grab groceries from the Sainsbury’s down the road, make your own coffee in the morning, that kind of thing. The Wi-Fi works well (always a concern in older London buildings), and I found the whole setup surprisingly quiet considering you’re in Camden.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to blow you away with fancy amenities, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The location really is the star here — you’re connected to everything London has to offer, but you come home to this peaceful square that feels like a little oasis. For the price point, especially in this part of London, it’s solid value. It’s the kind of place that works well if you actually want to experience living in London for a few days rather than just passing through.

Liked the location. The host was really helpful and responsive.
What could be improved: Was a bit uneasy about the building. Was really difficult to turn the kitchen tap off. The heating in the bathroom wouldn't turn off so the apartment was really hot and stuffy. Had trouble working the shower.

"Enjoyable, very pleasant and would stay again."
The host's communication was really very good. They were very welcoming and explained matters clearly. They made good suggestions about local restaurants and were very helpful throughout the stay. They really cared about making sure that we had a good stay. We were in London for the London Marathon and the property was ideal for the preparations. The location is brillliant as well.
What could be improved: No complaints from us.

"Perfect stay: prime location, spotless, cozy, and amazing host."
I had an amazing stay at this apartment during my recent visit to London! The location is unbeatable—just a stone’s throw away from St Pancras and King’s Cross stations, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city and beyond.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, and the thermal insulation was outstanding. Even with the chilly weather outside, I didn’t need to turn on the heating, which made for a very comfortable stay.
What truly stood out, however, was the incredible assistance and helpfulness of Ms. Feven. She went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect for my stay. Her warm and welcoming demeanor made all the difference, and I’m truly grateful for her support.
I highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting London—it’s a gem!

"Excellent location."
I had an amazing stay at this lovely apartment! The space is large, beautifully furnished, and very cozy, making it feel like a home away from home. The location is fantastic, close to everything we needed, and the area felt very secure, which gave us peace of mind during our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the entire apartment was spotless—clearly well-maintained.
Feven, the host, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and quick to respond to any questions we had. Even though we only stayed for one night, it was clear that everything was thoughtfully prepared for guests. We didn’t use the kitchen, but the apartment had everything we needed, and it was a great place to relax after a long day.
What could be improved: The only small challenge was finding the exact address on Google Maps, but once we arrived, everything was perfect. Overall, I highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting the area. I’ll definitely be booking it again for my next trip to London! Thank you, Feven, for such a wonderful stay!
