Overview
First Impressions
When I first spotted the HighEnd Luxury Design Apartment on Foulden Road, I’ll be honest — the exterior doesn’t scream “wow.” But that’s kind of the point with these converted Victorian buildings in Hackney. You’re getting something genuinely special tucked away in what looks like just another London terrace. The four-star rating really shows once you step inside, and with a 9 out of 10 guest rating, clearly I’m not the only one who thinks they’ve nailed it.
Location & Neighborhood
Hackney’s having quite the moment, and this spot puts you right in the thick of it without the touristy chaos. You’re actually walking distance to some brilliant independent coffee shops and that whole Stoke Newington scene — you know, the kind of places where locals go rather than where guidebooks send you. The transport links are solid too, though I’d recommend grabbing an Oyster card because you’ll want to explore beyond just this corner of North London.
The Space Itself
This isn’t your typical hotel room situation — it’s a proper apartment that feels like someone with really good taste actually lives there. The design hits that sweet spot between sleek and comfortable, with enough character that you don’t feel like you’re in some sterile corporate space. The kitchen is actually functional (rare in London accommodations, trust me), and there’s proper storage space for longer stays.
What Makes It Work
Here’s what I really appreciated — the attention to small details that matter when you’re settling in somewhere new. Good lighting for reading, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and a shower with actual water pressure. The whole place feels thoughtfully put together rather than just thrown together with whatever furniture was cheapest. Plus, there’s parking available, which honestly feels like winning the lottery in this part of London.
Why Guests Love It
I think the high ratings come down to this feeling like a real home base rather than just a place to crash. You can actually cook breakfast instead of spending £15 on mediocre hotel food, and there’s space to spread out and breathe. It’s the kind of setup that works whether you’re here for business meetings in the city or just want to experience London like someone who actually lives here — minus the astronomical rent prices, obviously.
Apartments in London suit families with bright bay windows, full kitchens, and sunset loops through Hyde Park paths.

"A pleasure to stay in this beautiful apartment."
This was our favourite stay on our trip! The apartment was well fitted out… the kitchen was fully equipped. There was even toothpaste & sanitary items in the bathroom. The bed was super comfy, there were fluffy throw rugs and the most fluffy bath robe I’ve ever worn! Bus n train were a short stroll and we felt safe arriving home at night. I can’t recommend this place enough.

"The apartment is great even for a long stay, but be careful in the area !"
The apartment is really a home away from home. It is spatious enough for mother / son needs, probably even for 3 persons.
It has everything you need, including water provided by the owner. We stayed for 2 weeks and felt really great there.
There are stairs inside and it might be difficult if you have mobility issues, but we found the stairs charming and very useful in keeping the place clean, as there was considerable distance between where we left our shoes and the rooms.
Also, the apartment has 4 rooms- bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom- and a hallway, and it is bigger that it says in the description.
All of them have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
What could be improved: The problematic thing was the location. The street where the apartment is looks neat and nice, but, 2 days into our trip a man was shot to death next to the Tesco we bought groceries from. Pretty close by our rental. They didn’t find the shooter, but there was a suposition to be a gang related issue. The person shot had been convicted for attempted murder. That was scary.

Needles to say that we didn’t get out in the evenings much and, when needed to return home around 22,00- 23.00, we took an Uber, not public transport.
Also, even though we stayed for almost 2 weeks, we didn’t get an exchange of sheets. There was talk about it, but the owner was not available to bring them when we were home, so we didn’t insist on it, being fine even without the change.
There is no cleaning service provided during the stay, no matter how long that is, and the property policy requires to leave the place clean at the end of the trip - no dirty dishes, trash taken out, etc- or they would charge an extra 100 pounds on the card.
If you leave early in the morning and had a long evening, that might be problematic.
I did not particularly care for that policy, since I thought that the rental price was enough to cover for the cleaning part.
The owner was nice and fairly attentive to our needs, he replaced the ironing board- the one there had been broken by a guest before- and brought me an european adapter for my charger.

"Most pleasing"
The apartment was clean and comfortable. There was a lot of light in the apartment and it felt like a home. Despite some criticisms below, I still highly recommended the apartment.
The location suited us and there are a lot of cafés and restaurants in the vicinity.
What could be improved: The bathroom, due to its size and design, made it hard to move about. There was no plug for the kitchen sink and the welcome brochure in the apartment clearly stated that water, fruit and milk would be in the fridge. Fruit and milk were not forthcoming. These may all be trivial criticisms, however, it was advertised as ‘high end luxury’.

"I love Hackney."
The location was ideal for me, as I have relatives living in that area.
Comfort is OK. Nice living room to relax, good kitchen for breakfast and dinner, nice and quiet room to sleep.
What could be improved: A little misunderstanding with the owner. He was very kind and helpful and everything went well. Kay is a careful host.

"Feel like home."
The owner is very helpful and welcome with plenty of fruits, food and drinks .He allows to get into the apartment in the morning before the official check-in time. 5 minutes walk to station so quite convenient. I will come back to stay here again. Beautiful place, house is warm and cozy.
What could be improved: Not many shops or restaurants around, find only 2 groceries in walking distance.

Great location for our night out. Easy check in instructions. The sofa bed was very comfy as well. Also the heating worked beautifully and came on very quickly as it was a crazy cold night. Very happy with the place and would definitely stay there again if we need to!
