Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to HAFH in Farringdon- Stylish 1Bedroom Apartments on St John Street, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling. This four-star property sits right in the sweet spot between Farringdon and Islington, and honestly — the location couldn’t be better. You’re literally in the heart of everything, which explains why couples absolutely rave about staying here (they give it an 8.8 for romantic getaways, and I can see why).
The Neighborhood Advantage
What I love about this spot is how it captures the real London experience without feeling touristy. Farringdon has this brilliant mix of historic charm and modern energy — you’ve got centuries-old pubs like The Jerusalem Tavern just around the corner, plus some of the city’s best coffee shops and markets within walking distance. The Barbican Centre is practically next door if you’re into arts and culture, and you know what? Getting anywhere else in London is ridiculously easy from here. Three tube lines converge at Farringdon station, so whether you’re heading to Camden, the West End, or even out to Heathrow, you’re sorted.
The Apartment Experience
These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — each apartment feels like a proper London flat that someone with excellent taste happens to be lending you. The one-bedroom setup gives you space to actually live, not just sleep. The kitchen is fully equipped (I mean properly equipped, not just a kettle and mini-fridge), which is brilliant if you want to grab fresh ingredients from nearby Borough Market or just make proper coffee in the morning. The design strikes this perfect balance between contemporary comfort and character — clean lines but not sterile, you know?
Living Like a Local
Having your own space changes the whole London experience, honestly. Instead of rushing back to a cramped hotel room after a day of sightseeing, you can spread out, cook dinner with ingredients from the local markets, and actually relax. The building itself feels residential rather than hotel-like, which I found refreshing. There’s something satisfying about having your own front door key and feeling like you belong in the neighborhood, even if it’s just for a few days.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.2 location score isn’t just numbers — it reflects how perfectly positioned this place is for experiencing London authentically. You’re close enough to walk to major attractions (St. Paul’s Cathedral is literally a 10-minute stroll), but you’re staying in a neighborhood where actual Londoners live and work. The combination of apartment-style independence with hotel-quality service creates this ideal middle ground that works whether you’re here for business, romance, or just exploring the city. Plus, let’s be practical — having proper storage space and a real kitchen makes longer stays infinitely more comfortable than cramming everything into a standard hotel room.
Exploring London blends royal heritage, UNESCO landmarks, and vibrant neighborhoods glowing with golden-hour light.

"Great location, great flat, great host, too many stairs."
The location in Farringdon was excellent, a short walk from the station. The flat was comfortable, well equipped, with decent sized rooms. Wifi was good, and the host was super responsive and pro-active.
What could be improved: there are 3 things I didn't like, which are personal preferences. First, the flat was on the 4th floor and there was no lift, with narrow stairs, not good when carrying a case or being a bit older. Second the flat was above a pub which got noisy - on the 4th floor this wasn't an issue, but lower down would have been. Finally, when you walk from the bedroom to the bathroom, there is a back door with a window in that people in the offices opposite can see right in through. Worse for them than for me.

"Wonderful!"
The flat is very welcoming and well equiped. Large windows and nice decoration. Our host was very nice and helpful.
The flat is very well located with the underground 5 minutes away. We were not bother at all by the pub dowstairs (flat on the 4th floor, quiet pub that closes early ;). We highly recommend!
What could be improved: The staircase is narrow. Not a problem but not easy access if with large suitcases.

"Great location for exploring London."
Excellent location and comfortable apartment.
What could be improved: Not a problem for us but a note that it’s four flights up to the apartment.

"Superb"
We loved our stay here. The decor was beautiful, and the double glazed windows insulated from noise and the apartment felt like a sanctuary from the busy-ness of London. The location was great with nearby stations and the kitchen was very well stocked. The toiletries were also high quality.
What could be improved: 3 flight of stairs!
Fridge had not been cleaned and still had items from last stay
Very minor- but I suggest shower curtain is cut to size so that it doesn't retain scum, and that a clean washing up sponge is provided for each new guest!

"Exceptional"
We had a wonderful time at the apartments, it was clean and well equiped.
What could be improved: There was a bar under the building, so it was a little noisy, but with earplugs it was ok.

"Great location and stylish design, pack light - beware the stairs!"
Great location and very nice apartment in the center of London very close to St Paul's Cathedral and Farringdon station with is great with the Elizabeth line from Heathrow.
What could be improved: 3rd floors walk up!!!! Beware if you are traveling with heavy bags or baby stuff, the stairs are very very steep and narrow, there is also noise from the bar below until late in the evenings.

"Beautiful apartment in great location - apart from being above a busy pub!"
The property is located in a good location for travel links and the interior was tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen was well equipped with quality appliances. The apartment really suited my needs as I was travelling for work. I found the hosts very attentive, helpful and professional. There are other comments about the stairs - it wasn't a problem for me - if you want to stay in a period property with character in London then this is normal!
What could be improved: This is not something the hosts can do anything about, but the apartment is above a busy pub which wasn't a problem until Thursday/Friday/Saturday evenings when the noise was terrible (from people out on the street and very loud music). The hosts did provide earplugs but this wasn't sufficient to drown out the noise. I also did not like having to push past the customers from the pub to get in through the front door. As I said, this is not the fault of the hosts - they were very helpful, but it would put me off staying here again. If it wasn't for this I would have given a higher score out of 10.
