Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge
First Impressions
Walking into Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge honestly feels like stepping into a private gentleman’s club that’s been given a serious modern upgrade. The building itself — this gorgeous Edwardian baroque structure — used to house the Port of London Authority, and you can still feel that maritime grandeur in every corner. I mean, the lobby alone has these soaring ceilings and original features that make you want to just stand there and gawk for a minute.
The Prime Location
You’re literally steps from Tower Bridge — and I’m talking about the actual Tower Bridge, not some distant view of it. The hotel sits right in Ten Trinity Square, which puts you in this fascinating pocket where the financial district meets historic London. What’s brilliant is you can walk to the Tower of London in about three minutes, but you’re also perfectly positioned for Borough Market (amazing for weekend mornings) and the South Bank’s theatre scene. The Tube connections from Tower Hill are actually really solid too, though honestly, you’ll find yourself walking everywhere from here.
Luxury Accommodations
The room I stayed in was one of those spaces that manages to feel both grand and intimate — no easy feat. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame either the Thames or the city skyline, and the interiors blend that classic English elegance with contemporary touches that actually work. The marble bathrooms are properly indulgent, and there’s this attention to detail that you notice gradually — the way the lighting shifts throughout the day, the quality of the linens, even how the minibar is stocked with local artisanal products rather than generic hotel fare.
Dining Excellence
La Dame de Pic — the hotel’s restaurant — is run by Anne-Sophie Pic, and it’s this incredible fusion of French technique with British ingredients that somehow doesn’t feel forced or gimmicky. The breakfast service is equally impressive, though I’d actually recommend trying it in your room at least once if you’ve got a Thames view. There’s something quite special about having perfectly prepared eggs Benedict while watching the morning light hit Tower Bridge. The afternoon tea service is outstanding too, served in the hotel’s art deco-inspired lounge.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this five-star property apart is how it manages to feel like a true London experience rather than just another luxury hotel that could be anywhere. The spa treatments incorporate British botanicals, the concierge team knows the neighborhood inside and out (they steered me toward this fantastic wine bar in a converted Victorian railway arch), and even the gym has views that make your workout feel less like a chore. It’s expensive, sure, but when you’re literally living inside one of London’s most photogenic postcards while experiencing genuine five-star service, it feels justified. Plus, having Tower Bridge as your backyard view never gets old — trust me on that one.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
