First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Huge 7-bedroom House in Croydon on Ringwood Avenue, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from the Hackbridge area. But this three-star property completely changed my perspective on what a group stay could be. The house sits quietly on a residential street, and there’s something immediately welcoming about having your own front door instead of checking into another generic hotel lobby.
The Space That Delivers
Seven bedrooms means this place doesn’t mess around when it comes to space, and honestly, it shows the moment you step inside. Each room has its own character — some are larger, some cozier, but all feel properly furnished rather than thrown together. The communal areas actually work for groups too, which isn’t always a given with these rental properties. I mean, you can spread out without feeling like you’re constantly bumping into each other.
Location Reality Check
Hackbridge isn’t central London, let’s be clear about that, but it’s got decent transport links that get you into Croydon center easily enough. What I actually liked was having a proper residential neighborhood to come back to after busy days in the city. There’s a Sainsbury’s about ten minutes away, and you know what — sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re traveling with a big group and want to grab breakfast supplies or snacks.
The Kitchen Situation
Here’s where this place really wins: the kitchen is properly equipped, not just some token appliances shoved in a corner. We’re talking full-size fridge, decent cooktop, enough counter space to actually prep meals. For groups, this is huge — restaurant bills add up fast when you’re feeding seven or eight people. Plus there’s proper seating around a dining table, so you can actually have meals together instead of balancing plates on your lap.
Why Groups Keep Coming Back
The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering — try finding spots for multiple cars in central London and you’ll understand what I mean. But beyond the practical stuff, there’s something nice about having a home base that feels like an actual home. The house doesn’t try to be fancy, but it covers all the basics well, and when you’re splitting costs among several people, the value really shows. It’s the kind of place where everyone gets their own space but you can still hang out together when you want to.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
