Overview
First Impressions
The Flat, apartment in Haggerston N1, Central London sits tucked away on the De Beauvoir estate, and honestly, it’s one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks missed. This apartment operates more like a unique boutique hotel without official star rating, which actually works in its favor — there’s no corporate polish here, just authentic London living in one of the city’s most interesting neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Story
Haggerston used to be one of those areas Londoners would mumble about, but these days it’s where the creative types have quietly settled in. You know what I mean — the kind of place where you’ll find a brilliant Vietnamese café next to a vintage record shop, and nobody’s trying too hard to be cool. The Regent’s Canal runs nearby, which means you can actually walk to King’s Cross or venture toward Victoria Park without dealing with the Underground during rush hour.
The Space Itself
What struck me most was how the room manages to feel both compact and surprisingly spacious — it’s that London magic where every square foot counts. The kitchen setup is actually functional, not just decorative like some places, so you can grab groceries from the local shops and save a fortune on eating out. The whole place has this lived-in quality that makes you feel more like a temporary resident than a tourist passing through.
Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying in Haggerston — you’re close enough to central London that a quick bus or tube ride gets you anywhere, but far enough out that you escape that constant tourist buzz. Haggerston Overground station is your friend here, connecting you straight through to Liverpool Street or down to Clapham. I mean, you’re not exactly next door to Big Ben, but that’s sort of the point — you get to experience London like someone who actually lives here.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.5 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a night or two here. It’s not about fancy amenities or room service — it’s about having a genuine base in a neighborhood that still feels real. The De Beauvoir estate has this village-within-the-city vibe, and staying here means you’ll probably end up chatting with locals at the corner shop or discovering that little pub everyone seems to know about. It’s the kind of place where you leave feeling like you actually experienced London, not just visited it.
London’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike routes to hidden mews streets.

"It was such a great space for us as a family, great value, clean and well located. Thanks so much"
Spacious, clean and light! Everything top quality products and perfect communication from hosts.
What could be improved: We didn’t expect it to be in such a huge tower block but it wasn’t an issue at all!

"Perfect for a stay in London."
Very clean apartment, perfectly as described and ideally located next to Haggerston station. Perfect for a stay in London.

"Superb"
The host was very approachable and accommadating, and very polite and considerate,
What could be improved: Needed a small hand towel for the bathroom, a jug in the kitchen, and hanging space for clothes on the back of the bathroom door and a small wardrobe and desk and chair in the twin room would have been perfect

"Good value for the price"
Staying was without problems, host provided all necessary info and was available. Location is close to city center with use of local transport (bus). Maybe not the best area in London and I was even warned about problematic surrounding but in reality it was nice and no problems experienced. House itself is 18 floors and not the best one, Apartment is pretty big, well equiped even with basic consumables, power outlet adapters, is clean and comfortable. I can recommend.
What could be improved: Would be nice to have in the kitchen some coffee machine, even manual one. Bathroom can have small upgrade, nothing major. No other recommendations, all good.

"Very good"
Really bright sunny apartment. Lots of space for the three of us to sit comfortably in the sitting room and great table for meals in the kitchen.
What could be improved: The entrance lobby and lift are dark and dated but it makes the flat a nice surprise

"Very good, clean, much space and a great location"
The apartment was super clean, the host was very friendly and kind during our conversations and was very helpful, provided clear information.
There are busstations and overground stations nearby, which make this apartment a perfect place to stay if you want to be in a quiet place and visit London.
What could be improved: There were some minor items missing, nothing that can’t be fixed in a simple way by yourself - like a pot holder for instance
The shower handle was loose, we fixed this by placing something underneath it so it would stay put - maybe the handle can be replaced with one you can move up and down
It might be an idea to install a mix tap for the shower, we were struggling with getting the right temperature water

"It was an amazing place to stay"
The apartment is really big and even with 4 people we were super comfortable there. It was fully equipped. The location was not in the centre of London but for us is an advantage as it was not difficult to get there by bus and the area was calm and were able to sleep without any noises.
