Elephant & Oxpecker 2 Bedrooms in Fulham
First Impressions
When I first walked up to Elephant & Oxpecker 2 Bedrooms in Fulham, I wasn’t expecting much from the name — honestly, it’s a bit quirky. But this four-star property on Kenyon Street turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you rethink what London apartment living can actually feel like. The building has that classic Victorian charm you see all over Fulham, but inside it’s been thoughtfully updated without losing its character.
The Space That Works
The two-bedroom setup is genuinely spacious by London standards — and I mean actually spacious, not just “spacious for London.” Each room has proper windows that let in decent light, which is rarer than you’d think in this part of town. The kitchen is what really impressed me though; it’s fully equipped and you can actually move around in there without bumping into everything. I spent a good chunk of my stay cooking rather than eating out, which says something considering how many great spots are within walking distance.
Location and Getting Around
Fulham gets overlooked sometimes, but staying here gives you this perfect balance of residential calm and easy access to central London. You’re about a ten-minute walk to Parsons Green tube station, and from there it’s a straight shot into the city center. What I really appreciated was having the New King’s Road so close by — it’s got this relaxed neighborhood vibe with independent shops and cafes that feel authentically local rather than tourist-focused.
The Neighborhood Feel
The area around Kenyon Street has this lived-in quality that I found really appealing. You’ll see families heading to Parsons Green park in the mornings, people walking their dogs, the kind of everyday London life that’s easy to miss when you’re staying in more central areas. There’s a proper pub called The Duke on the Green just a few streets over — nothing fancy, but exactly the kind of place where you can grab a pint and actually talk to locals. The whole stretch feels safe and walkable, even late at night.
Why Guests Love It
Looking back on my stay, what made this place work wasn’t any single standout feature — it was how everything just functioned well together. The 9.5 rating makes complete sense when you experience how the space flows, how quiet it stays despite being in London, and how the location gives you options without feeling overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and actually live rather than just crash between sightseeing trips. If you’re traveling with someone else or need space to spread out, this beats hotel rooms hands down.
