East London – 2 bed Apartment with Parking
First Impressions
East London – 2 bed Apartment with Parking caught me off guard in the best way possible. I’ll be honest — when I first pulled up to Meadow Close in Barking, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a quiet residential street. But sometimes those unassuming spots turn out to be exactly what you need, and this place definitely falls into that category.
Location & Getting Around
You know what’s actually great about staying in Barking? You’re close enough to central London without paying those insane Zone 1 prices. The Tube connection is solid — Barking station gets you into the city center in about 25 minutes, which honestly beats some of those “centrally located” hotels where you’re still schlepping through tourist crowds just to grab coffee. Plus, having guaranteed parking in East London is like finding a unicorn — I mean, that alone probably saves you £20-30 a day.
The Space
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel experience. Two proper bedrooms, which is perfect if you’re traveling with family or splitting costs with friends. The kitchen is actually functional too — not one of those sad hotel kitchenettes with a broken microwave. I ended up cooking breakfast a couple mornings, partly to save money but mostly because it felt nice to have that option.
What Works
This unique boutique hotel without official star rating approach really works here. There’s no pretentious lobby or over-the-top amenities you don’t need, just a comfortable space that does what it promises. The room setup gives you actual living space to spread out, and honestly, after spending days walking around London, having a proper sofa to collapse on makes all the difference. The neighborhood is surprisingly quiet too — I actually slept better here than at some fancy places in Covent Garden where you hear drunk tourists until 3 AM.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy concierge service or a rooftop bar, but that’s sort of the point. What you get is genuine value and space to actually relax. The fact that you can park your car and forget about it while you explore London is huge — I’ve stayed in central hotels where just figuring out parking became a daily nightmare. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like real London life rather than the tourist bubble. Just don’t expect room service or daily housekeeping — this is very much a self-sufficient kind of stay.
