Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled up to East End London Garden Flat on Carson Road, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this corner of Newham. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are in the places you wouldn’t immediately think to look. This four-star property sits quietly in a residential area that feels refreshingly authentic — none of that tourist-trap energy you get closer to central London.
The Space Itself
The flat genuinely feels like staying in someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel room. There’s this lovely garden area (hence the name) that actually makes you forget you’re in one of the world’s busiest cities. The space has character — I mean, real character, not the manufactured kind. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout, and the layout flows naturally in that way older London properties often do.
Location Reality Check
Let me be straight with you — this isn’t Zone 1, and that’s actually part of its charm. You’re in proper East London here, which means you get to experience how locals actually live. The transport links are better than you’d think though — Beckton Park DLR station gets you into Canary Wharf in about 15 minutes, and from there the whole city opens up. Plus, you’re surprisingly close to London City Airport if that matters for your travel plans.
Practical Considerations
There’s decent parking available, which honestly is like finding gold in London. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing — everything from check-in to local recommendations feels smooth and considered. I particularly appreciated having a proper kitchen setup; grabbing groceries from the local shops and cooking breakfast felt more natural than hunting for overpriced hotel food every morning.
Why Guests Love It
That 8.8 rating makes complete sense once you spend time here. It’s the kind of place that grows on you — maybe not love at first sight, but definitely the type of stay you find yourself recommending months later. You get genuine London living without the premium you’d pay for a fancy hotel in Covent Garden, and there’s something refreshing about falling asleep to actual neighborhood sounds rather than tourist crowds. For travelers who want to experience London beyond the postcard version, this place hits the mark.

"I had a fantastic stay at this booking.com property in London. Its convenient location, just 10 minutes from the Excel C"
The property was a great location, especially to get to the Excel conference centre.
What could be improved: I can’t complain.

"Great host, good price, convenient local for Excel"
The host, Steven, was very responsive on booking.com messages and WhatsApp, sending all details through quickly and helping us have a great stay. Very comfy mattresses and well stocked cupboards for utensils etc.
What could be improved: A few minor quibbles like the toaster not working well, but I sent the details though and I'm sure he'll fix them soon, but I'm really nitpicking here, great stay!

"Very good"
Very good communication with the owner, he was very flexible and offered early check in. The apartament is located in the quiet area, close to the bus stop and tube stations. The kitchen is very well equipped, so you can prepare your own food.
What could be improved: The apartament could be furnished in a more modern way, but it is just a shy recommendation, not a must.

"Really pleasant"
It was a nice 2 bed apartment, good location where we felt safe. The staff was always available to help us anytime of the day and was very kind.
What could be improved: The apartment was a little old and with some details of missing ink in some walls and some canalization tubes out. Also, the deposit in cash made us lose a certain amount of money in the cash conversions

"Superb"
It is situated in a quite interesting place, not that far from (if you like to walk) Leamouth peninsula, Trinity Bouth Wharf, and then just couple of stations from Canary Wharf, that is really a place to see.
Its not the very top location, but taking how expencive is to stay in London, this was a good solution to stay

"Very good"
to have a flat in London with two bedrooms, a kitchen, table and chairs and a garden. I also liked the neighborhood. Steven was very helpful with any question we had.
