Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Earls Court Apartments by BaseToGo on Warwick Road, you’d honestly never guess you’re about to step into a five-star experience. The building has this understated Victorian charm that blends right into the Kensington streetscape — no flashy signs or doormen, just quality that speaks for itself. I mean, that’s sort of the beauty of staying in actual luxury apartment-style accommodations in London.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what I love about this spot? You’re literally a three-minute walk from Earl’s Court tube station, which connects you to both the District and Piccadilly lines. That means you can be in Covent Garden in fifteen minutes or catch a direct train to Heathrow without the usual London transport headaches. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel — there’s a Tesco Express around the corner, proper pubs within walking distance, and you’re close enough to South Kensington’s museums that you could easily stroll over on a nice afternoon.

The Space

These aren’t your typical hotel rooms, and that’s the whole point. Each unit feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice London flat — complete with a proper kitchen that actually has everything you need, not just a mini-fridge and kettle. The living spaces are thoughtfully designed with contemporary furnishings that somehow work perfectly with the period architecture. I was genuinely surprised by how spacious everything felt, especially considering London real estate standards.

Luxury Details

What sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you’d expect from a premium property. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m talking proper linens, not hotel-chain basics), and the bathrooms have those little touches — quality toiletries, heated towel rails, rainfall showers — that make you feel properly looked after. There’s also reliable WiFi throughout, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but somehow still is in some London accommodations.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gives you the independence of having your own London base without sacrificing the service quality you want from luxury hospitality. You can pop to the local shops, cook breakfast if you feel like it, or just spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. Plus, when you tell people you’re staying in Kensington, it just sounds right — even though you’re paying considerably less than what the big-name hotels in the area charge. It’s that sweet spot where you get authentic London living with all the backup support when you need it.

"Very good"
It was in a great spot, right by the tube. Easy to check in and the hosts were super accommodating by allowing us to drop our bags early. The apartment was clean, well stocked in the kitchen, nicely appointed. We had a great stay!

"Had a great time, would definitely stay here again. Staff have been really helpful!"
Close to where we were visiting Had two beds rather than a sofa bed for the second
What could be improved: In need of new carpet or some kind of flooring

The accomodation was very nice. The apartment was cosy and very clean. The environment was lovely and near the supermarket and the to the city centre was nice.
What could be improved: The Kitchen was a bit poor equiped and the beds small, but we just had the best breakfast outside.

"Functional but lacks comfort"
The staff was very responsive with my questions. The terrace and backyard are quiet and lovely. The apartment was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. It a very short walk to the underground, so getting to and from Heathrow airport and I to central London was very easy. Also, a nice walk to museums and a few pubs.
What could be improved: The kitchen has dishes. flatware and pots. But didn't have any any staples. Oil salt etc that would have made things so much easier. The one couch in the living area needs to be replaced, it's SO LoW to the ground and not comfortable. The smart TV is not set up to be used easily. Need to pair it to a personal device,an HDMI cable should be in the apartment. If they added a few inexpensive things to make a stay easier it would make the stay a better value. I think for this price these things should be corrected

"Nice, quiet and comfortable!"
Pictures are a great representation of the apartment. Perfect location, size, amenities, and large bath towels. The host was quick to respond and had great suggestions.
What could be improved: Maybe recommend a firmer and bigger couch for more than 2 people when a family is staying.

"Exceptional"
The apartment is located in a quiet place, 5 minutes from the street with 24-hour shops and cafes. The apartment is beautifully decorated, there are 2 separate bedrooms with comfortable beds and a hall with a spacious veranda overlooking the garden. Squirrels and foxes live in the garden, the children were delighted. Our family felt comfortable in this apartment, the owner was friendly and next time we want to stay here

"A bad experience"
There was a pack of pasta, salt and pepper, olive oil. Thats it.
What could be improved: No dishwasher, dusty, no elevator, old not like in the pictures. The staff was very rude. The apartment was in top floor, no where to put push chairs in the apartment so we had to carry them up 3 floors.

"Nice location but needs some work done"
It was noisy, dusty, hot and smelly. There was work being done in the building ( I was not made aware in advance). I got paint on my hands which was not easy to get rid off. Windows didn't have nets so we could not open them. There was smell from the garbage rotting outside the windows when I opened for few minutes. Curtains are all falling apart and look unsightly
