Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Doubletree By Hilton London Kensington, you’re greeted by that signature warm cookie smell — honestly, it never gets old. The lobby has this polished, modern feel without being stuffy, and the staff actually seem happy to see you. It’s one of those places that feels professional but not intimidating, which I really appreciate after a long flight into London.
Perfect Kensington Location
The hotel sits right on Cromwell Road, which means you’re basically in the heart of one of London’s most elegant neighborhoods. You can walk to the Natural History Museum in about ten minutes, and honestly, the Victoria and Albert Museum is practically next door. What I love most is that you’re close enough to all the major attractions but tucked away from the chaos of central tourist zones — you know what I mean?
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a four-star Hilton property — clean, comfortable, and well-designed. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure. Sure, the rooms aren’t huge by American standards, but this is London — space comes at a premium, and they’ve made smart use of what they have.
Dining and Amenities
The on-site restaurant serves solid international cuisine, though I’ll be honest — with Kensington’s incredible dining scene right outside, you might want to explore. The fitness center is well-equipped if you need to burn off some of those famous London pub meals. There’s also a business center that actually works properly, which is more valuable than you’d think when you’re dealing with international travel logistics.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is the combination of reliability and location. You’re getting consistent Hilton standards in one of London’s most desirable areas, and the staff genuinely seem to care about your experience. The parking situation is handled well too — not cheap, but that’s London for you, and at least it’s available. It’s the kind of hotel where everything just works as it should, which honestly is exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city as amazing as London.

"Very good"
The location, staff are very good
What could be improved: Totally not recommended for families whom have lots of baggage with them , no service to help you collect the bag when you do the check in & also check out you have to carry with you the baggages ! So for big families and lot of bags will be issues

"Very central hotel. Friendly staff. A bit outdated."
We stayed in a duplex room and it was very spacey, unlike many hotels in London
The location is very convenient and central
The staff is excellent
What could be improved: The rooms are worn down. The beds and pillows are extremely soft which made sleeping very difficult for us
Everyday, very early around 6:00 am, they are delivering something to the hotel. Our room was facing the street and this woke us up.
The breakfast is very mediocre.

"Good"
Good size room, the best thing with the hotel is the double queen beds when you're staying here with teenagers. Comfortable beds.
Great location. Hotel interior i slightly dated but alright. It's expensive for what it offers.
What could be improved: Our fridge was broken during the whole stay and despite telling the staff several times, it wasn't fixed. They missed room cleaning on one of our days. Lovely staff but for the price you're paying you're expecting top notch service.

"Vey comfortable. Good breakfast. Great location near Hyde park and museums."
Staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was good with lots of options. Full English or fruit or cereal.
What could be improved: Would have like two bath towels per person as default.

"This hotel is definitely worth choosing."
I think the hotel’s location is excellent — at least for us with two kids, it was perfect. Great value for money. It’s a quiet, well-maintained hotel. The Hop-on Hop-off bus stops are just one block away, as well as the metro station, so you can reach the city center in just a few minutes. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful.
What could be improved: I think the breakfast could be more generous — it was a bit below average compared to our previous experiences. We had dinner at the hotel once, but not again, as it was really disappointing. It felt like everything came straight from the freezer — definitely not good. However, despite this, I would still recommend the hotel overall — it’s a good place to stay, though it might be better to have your meals elsewhere.

"Great location, great selection for breakfast, pleasant staff"
Great location very close to tube station, food shopping, restaurants, central London easy access.
What could be improved: Poor stocking of bathroom essentials! Ran out of toilet paper and tissues daily and took long time to get supplies. Beds were hard, few furniture in room to place things on and leaving suitcases on floor. Had to order additional suitcase stands as we were 5 and only one stand provided.
