Overview
First Impressions
Domasi Flat in New Cross caught me off guard in the best possible way. Tucked into a quiet residential street in Lewisham, this apartment-style accommodation doesn’t fit the typical hotel mold — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it interesting. It’s one of those unique boutique places that operates without an official star rating, which initially made me skeptical, but sometimes the most memorable stays happen when you step outside the usual categories.
The Space Itself
What you’re getting here is essentially a self-contained flat, complete with a proper kitchenette that actually works (I made coffee every morning without any drama). The room setup feels more like staying in a local friend’s place than a sterile hotel environment. The décor is modern but not trying too hard — think clean lines, decent lighting, and furnishings that look like someone actually chose them rather than ordered them from a hotel catalog.
New Cross Reality Check
Let’s talk about London geography for a second. New Cross isn’t Covent Garden or Kensington — it’s a proper South London neighborhood that’s been quietly gentrifying over the past few years. You’ve got Goldsmiths University nearby, which means there’s a good mix of students, artists, and long-time locals creating this sort of eclectic vibe. The high street has everything you need without being touristy, and I mean that as a compliment.
Getting Around
New Cross Gate station is your friend here — it connects you to both London Bridge and Central London without the usual zone 1 price shock. The walk from Domasi Flat takes about 8 minutes, maybe 10 if you’re dragging luggage. There’s also decent bus connections if the weather turns properly miserable. Parking around Sterling Gardens is typical residential London street parking, so factor that in if you’re driving.
Why It Works
Here’s the thing about places like this — they’re not trying to be everything to everyone, which actually makes them better at what they do. You get independence, reasonable value for money (especially by London standards), and a genuine neighborhood experience. The 7.2 rating feels about right — it’s solid, reliable, and does exactly what it promises without any fuss or pretense.

"Comfortable apartment in New Cross"
The apartment is good value, comfortable and well placed for walking access to New Cross station, just one train stop away from London Bridge. We needed a place to stay in New Cross for a night, this was perfectly located. There are good shops within walking distance including a Londis, a range of deli/international shops, a range of restaurants etc. There was milk in the fridge for us which was a nice touch, essentials available such as washing up liquid & sponges/hand soap/toilet roll, kitchen paper etc. The beds were comfortable and the blinds kept the light out for a lie in. The 12 noon checkout was perfect..
What could be improved: The apartment has been nicely decorated but now needs a bit of tlc. There were just a few things which I've mentioned to the host.

We were three guests in this apartment and enjoyed the stay. The free car parking bay was a wonderful addition in London for our new car.
We fully recommend it.

"There wasn’t any toilet paper there. The host didn’t provide the wifi password and there was hanging laundry in the livi"
The beds were comfortable. It was fairly close on foot to a station which was good.
What could be improved: The host wasn’t replying to me. He texted me after I booked that there we’re going to be hanging laundry there “since it’s a last minute booking” (I booked a whole day and a half before our arrival), but after that he didn’t bother to reply to me if there was any toilet paper in the flat because there wasn’t any in the bathroom or to give me the the WIFI password. That was 2 days ago and he hasn’t reply yet.
