Overview

First Impressions

The Cozy London Apartment sits on a quiet mews street in London — you know, one of those tucked-away cobblestone roads that feels worlds apart from the city’s chaos. Victory Road Mews isn’t exactly central, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This two-star property is more like staying in someone’s well-loved flat than a traditional hotel, which either works for you or it doesn’t.

The Space Itself

Your room feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile — there are books on shelves, artwork that someone actually chose, and furniture that looks like it came from real shops rather than hotel catalogs. The space isn’t huge, but it’s thoughtfully arranged with everything you actually need. I mean, you get a proper kettle, decent Wi-Fi, and windows that open (which is surprisingly rare in London budget stays).

Location Reality Check

Here’s the thing about the location — it’s residential, so you’re not stumbling out the door into tourist central. The nearest tube station is about a 12-minute walk, which sounds fine until you’re dragging luggage or caught in typical London drizzle. But the flip side? You’re in an actual neighborhood where locals shop and live, which gives you a completely different feel for the city than staying near Oxford Street.

What Works and What Doesn’t

The place runs more like a guesthouse than a hotel — there’s no 24-hour reception or room service, so you really need to be comfortable being independent. Parking is street-only, which means circling the block hoping for a spot if you’ve driven in. The good news is that once you’re settled, the mews is genuinely quiet at night, and the neighbors seem friendly enough.

Why Guests Choose This Place

Look, with a 6.5 rating, this isn’t going to blow anyone away, but it serves a specific purpose. You’re paying London prices for an authentic local experience rather than polished hotel service. If you want to feel like you’re temporarily living in London rather than just visiting, and you don’t mind handling your own logistics, it actually delivers on that promise pretty well.

Apartments in London suit families with bright bay windows, full kitchens, and sunset loops through Hyde Park paths.

"Good! Cosy little place."
Beds were comfy, all that you need for a quick stay. About 15 minute walk from wimbledon centre. Host was responsive and nice.
What could be improved: The beds smelled a little strange. I'm not sure if they were washed?

"Clean but dingy & poorly equipped"
Good location for my requirements
What could be improved: Dingy, stuffy, poorly equipped. I would expect a plug for the kitchen sink; a bedside light; & a bath mat as basic equipment. The flat is VeRY dingy - only 1 small external window & 2 additional windows onto an internal corridor.

"Overall good, some improvements could be made."
Beds and towels were clean, modern kitchen, nice large space with good links to central London. For London, the price is a great deal. For a short time it was absolutely fine, we would likely stay again. We were able to park at a pay and display nearby that operates between Monday-Saturday, which was handy (although note max period is 2 hours).
What could be improved: There are two doors to get into the apartment, but the first door has smashed windows and does not close properly. The window in the bathroom also doesn’t shut properly, and the kitchen is missing some items (i.e no saucepan or tea towel). Be cautious when showering, as water will escape and the floor will get wet.

"Good"
It is a basic apartment which have beds, full equipped kitchen and bathroom. We didn’t mind to stay over as we didn’t need much
What could be improved: The door was hard to shut, no tv (would be nice to have one), need a lamp for bedroom and the pictures on booking.com didn’t match at all. Also, no curtains for bedroom

"If the location is not a problem, the place is pretty good."
The place itself was quiet nice. It doesn’t look like the picture but it is still pretty good for an apartment in London. The kitchen and bathroom were nice and clean.
What could be improved: The location. It is too far from London central. The way to the apartment is also a bit shabby. It had rained so the road was all wet and it was difficult to take the luggage to the apartment as we had big suitcases

"Very good"
Good sized apartment, close to public transportation.
What could be improved: I would personally appreciate more "home" touch, some kitchen wear would have been welcomed, also some entertainment facilities, TV. No parking available, nowhere near, there only permit parking holders ( the owner can apply for a resident permit in the future). Noisy upstairs neighbors since early morning, numerous children.
