COVE Cannon Street
First Impressions
Walking up to COVE Cannon Street, you immediately get that sleek, modern apartment-hotel vibe that London does so well these days. It’s tucked right into the heart of the financial district, and honestly, the building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard. The lobby is compact but polished — you know you’re in a four-star place without all the fuss of somewhere overly grand.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying in the City of London — weekdays it’s buzzing with suited professionals, but weekends it actually gets pretty quiet, which can be perfect if you want to explore without the crowds. You’re literally walking distance to St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the Millennium Bridge is just a few minutes away. I mean, you can stroll across to Borough Market or the Tate Modern without even thinking about transport. Bank and Cannon Street stations are right there, so getting anywhere else is dead simple.
The Apartment Experience
What I really appreciated was getting an actual apartment rather than just a hotel room. The kitchenette isn’t huge, but it’s properly equipped — you can actually cook a decent meal if you want to save some money or just fancy staying in. The living area feels separate from the sleeping space, which makes a real difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. Everything’s got that contemporary design thing going on, clean lines and neutral colors, but it doesn’t feel sterile.
Dining & Amenities
There’s an on-site restaurant called Pilgrm, and I’ll be honest, the food exceeded my expectations. It’s got this modern European menu that changes seasonally, and the breakfast spread is actually worth getting up for. The building has a decent gym if you’re into that, and while there’s no spa, the rooms are comfortable enough that you won’t miss it. Parking is available, though in this part of London you’re probably better off using public transport anyway.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel like you’re living in London rather than just visiting. The apartment setup means you can spread out properly, and the location puts you right in the thick of things without the tourist chaos of Covent Garden or Oxford Street. The staff strike that perfect balance of being helpful without hovering, and the whole operation runs smoothly. For the money, especially if you’re staying several nights, it’s solid value in a city where decent accommodation can cost a fortune.
