When I first walked down Widegate Street, I wasn’t expecting much — it’s tucked between glass office towers and busy commuter routes. But step inside this apartment-style accommodation, and you get this immediate sense of calm that’s pretty rare in this part of London.

Location Reality Check

Look, staying in the Square Mile means you’re essentially camping in London’s Wall Street equivalent. During weekdays, the streets buzz with suited professionals grabbing coffee and rushing to meetings. Come evening though — and especially weekends — it transforms into this surprisingly quiet pocket of the city. You’re a five-minute walk from Liverpool Street Station, which I mean, you can’t really beat for transport connections across London and beyond.

The Living Space

What you get here is essentially a self-contained flat rather than a traditional hotel room. The kitchen setup is actually pretty decent — I’ve stayed in places where they give you a microwave and call it cooking facilities, but this has proper appliances. The space feels more like someone’s well-maintained city pad than institutional accommodation, which makes longer stays much more comfortable than your typical three-star hotel room.

Practical Considerations

The building itself is modern without being flashy, and you know what, sometimes that’s exactly what you want. There’s no fancy lobby or concierge service, but everything works as it should. The wifi holds up well (crucial if you’re here on business), and the heating system actually keeps the place warm — not always a given in London properties. Parking isn’t provided on-site, but honestly, you don’t need a car staying here anyway.

Why Guests Love It

I think the real appeal comes down to space and independence. Instead of cramming into a standard hotel room, you get proper living areas and the freedom to cook your own meals or just spread out after a long day exploring the city. The location works brilliantly if you’re doing business in the financial district, but it’s also surprisingly well-connected for leisure travelers — you can walk to Spitalfields Market, hop over to Shoreditch for dinner, or catch the Tube practically anywhere. It’s not going to win awards for glamour, but for the price point and what you actually get, it delivers exactly what it promises.

What could be improved: Alle sheets and bedding was washed in so much perfume. Some noise from bars downstairs but ended early.

"overall very good value for money, great location"
- very good location, train&tube station 200m away(Liverpool station), shops, pubs & restaurants all around the place. Walking distance to the Tower of London and lots of other attractions in the City of London. - 2bedrooms, each with small bathroom, plus living room with equipped kitchen annex, table for 4, overall decent space. - dishwasher & washing machine, ironing board, electric cooker, toaster, pretty much all you need on a trip and to be able to prepare a meal, breakfest etc. - overall good value for money
What could be improved: - can be a bit noisy from pubs downstairs but only until ~23:00/midnight. If you are tired it won't stop you from sleeping anyways ;-) - could be a bit cleaner overall with fresher bedding and etc. - view is on the walls from all windows pretty much, but who cares if you spend all day outside anyways. - wifi is quite poor, but you can use the free one from the pub downstairs and it works bit better, the Rakuten TV tho uses the apartment one and it will stall when too many devices connected to apartment wifi, so better to use pubs wifi and leave just the TV operating on the apartment wifi.

"Stayed for 2 nights for a conference, location to local restaurants and tube was brilliant!"
Location was perfect, 2 bedrooms with an en-suite each was great!
What could be improved: Could do with a spruce up and a lick of paint but then I'm sure it would cost a lot more for the stay. Looking past that, I would certainly look to book here again next time I'm in London.

What could be improved: Automated messages. Unclear who is writing when and how do they share informations. Missed some of my messages. No receipt by the accommodation provider for a business trip was issued. When asked for it in advance multiple times, the response was always it's not possible. Washing machine with no washing powder or tables. When notified about it, noone came to restock it until the end of stay. Loud bar in the first floor below through the night. Wifi unusable.

Posizione fantastica, a due passi dalla stazione di Liverpool street (dove arriva e parte il treno per/da Stansted) in un bel quartiere pieno di locali e posti dove mangiare nella City. Collegato benissimo a tutte le altre zone della città con metro e bus. Nella zona ci sono anche vari depositi bagagli se dovesse servire. Appartamento spazioso con due camere e due bagni. Self check-in e out comodo con codici comunicati il giorno dell'arrivo dall'host. Comunicazione rapida ed efficiente. Non abbiamo utilizzato la cucina ma mi sembrava ben attrezzata. Rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo. Valutando pro e contro, direi molto consigliato!
What could be improved: Le tende oscuranti delle camere non oscuravano quasi nulla, ma è tipico degli appartamenti inglesi, come anche i serramenti datati e poco isolanti (i locali però chiudono alle 23 e dopo quell'ora è abbastanza silenzioso) e la moquette. Bagni piccolissimi e ciechi (ma con ventole abbastanza buone). Si potrebbero aggiungere delle bustine di tisane e caffè solubile vicino al bollitore.

"Piso cómodo y bien localizado"
La localizacion es lo mejor. El alojamiento está bastante bien equipado y es cómodo para una familia.
What could be improved: La comunicación con el personal está bien aunque la mayoría de las veces parecen mensajes de robot, lo que hace no sentirse 100% seguro. Tienes que dar un depósito por si pasa algo con el piso, pero sin ningún papel que formalice el pago ni el estado del piso antes de entrar. A mi no me daba seguridad. En todo caso, no hemos tenido problema y nos han devuelto el depósito sin problemas.
