City Prime Apartments
First Impressions
Walking up to City Prime Apartments on Collingham Place, you immediately notice how it blends into one of Kensington’s most charming residential streets. The Victorian townhouse exterior doesn’t scream “hotel” — which is exactly what makes it feel special. I mean, you’re staying in what feels like an actual London home rather than some sterile chain property, and that sets the tone for everything else.
The Neighborhood Feel
Honestly, the location is what sold me on this place. You’re tucked away on a quiet street in London, but Earl’s Court tube station is literally a three-minute walk away. The Natural History Museum? About ten minutes on foot through those lovely garden squares that make this part of town feel so distinctly London. What I really appreciated was having proper grocery stores nearby — there’s a Tesco Express around the corner and a more upscale Whole Foods if you’re feeling fancy.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment I stayed in felt genuinely spacious by London standards, which is saying something. The kitchen wasn’t just for show either — it had a proper fridge, dishwasher, and everything you’d need to actually cook a meal. The living area had this comfortable, lived-in quality that made me want to settle in with a book rather than rush out sightseeing. You know what surprised me? The bathroom was modern and well-lit, not cramped like so many places in older London buildings.
Daily Life Here
Mornings were my favorite time at City Prime Apartments. I’d grab coffee from the little café on Old Brompton Road and sit by the apartment window watching Londoners head to work. The staff — well, you don’t see them much, which is actually perfect for this kind of setup. They’re there when you need them but otherwise let you live like a temporary local. The 24-hour front desk meant I never worried about getting locked out after late dinners in South Kensington.
Why Guests Love It
This four-star property works because it gives you space to breathe in a city that doesn’t usually offer much of it. Families especially seem to love having multiple bedrooms and that kitchen — I watched parents actually relax here instead of constantly herding kids through hotel lobbies. The parking situation is tricky (it’s London, after all), but the tube connections are so good you honestly won’t miss having a car. For the price point in this part of town, you’re getting way more space and character than you’d find in a traditional hotel.
