Overview

First Impressions

Charming flat with balcony in Pimlico sits on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos, yet you’re actually just a short walk from Victoria Station. The building itself is classic London — red brick, white-trimmed windows, and that satisfying creak of old wooden floors when you walk in. I mean, you know you’re in the real London when you hear those sounds.

The Space Itself

This four-star apartment genuinely lives up to its name — there’s something undeniably charming about the way natural light floods through those tall windows onto the balcony. The kitchen is compact but honestly has everything you need, including a proper coffee machine (which saved my mornings). The living area feels cozy without being cramped, and that balcony — well, it’s small but perfect for morning coffee or evening wine while watching the neighborhood wind down.

Location & Neighborhood

Pimlico is one of those London neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often overlook. You’ve got the Tate Britain just across the river, and honestly, walking along the Thames Path to get there is half the fun. The area around Alderney Street has this lovely residential feel — you’ll see actual Londoners walking their dogs and popping into the corner shops, not just groups with selfie sticks.

Practical Perks

Victoria Station is maybe a ten-minute walk, which means you’re connected to pretty much everywhere — Gatwick Airport, the West End, you name it. There’s a Sainsbury’s Local nearby for essentials, plus some surprisingly good pubs tucked away on the side streets. The flat comes with decent Wi-Fi and all the usual amenities, though don’t expect hotel-style daily housekeeping — this is more like staying at a friend’s place (in the best way).

Why Guests Love It

What really works here is the balance — you get that authentic London residential experience without sacrificing convenience. The balcony adds something special that most hotel rooms simply can’t offer, especially when you’re dealing with London’s often-tiny accommodations. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to hang around in the evening rather than just crash and leave early. The 8.4 rating makes sense once you’re there — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just a well-maintained, thoughtfully set up space in a genuinely nice part of town.

"Superb"
A nice and comfortable apartment. Balcony with views towards Battersea power station. Quiet location, still only a 10 minute walk from Victoria station. Easy getting in touch with host, and flexible check in and out (if possible, of course). Good wifi and TV.
What could be improved: The stairs....but we knew that in advance. Not a lot of kitchen utensils, but you don´t spend a lot of time in the accomodation when you are in London anyway. A microwave would have been good, though. It´s an old building, so a bit draughty and some creaky floorboards. Not a big issue, but good to know.

"Nice stay for a few days"
Really nice apartment property equipped. Location was great, 10 minutes away of the Victoria train station and underground. There’s a lot of things around, like pubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets.
What could be improved: The sofa bed was really uncomfortable, I can’t advise it as suitable for everybody. So although the apartment fits 4 people, 2 might not be as comfortable as the ones using the beds. The balcony door was unlocked when we arrived, and we weren’t able to figure how to close it. We contacted their support (host is a private company) and they explained, but that took about two hours until resolved. The trick was to put the doorknob in upright position (first time ever I get something like this). Although their support helped me, they lack to understand the issue, even with a provided video showing that the door couldn’t be locked. They should add some instructions as the way to lock it is a bit unusual.

"Great accomodation"
They were very kind with us and they had some flexibility with check in and check out times. The apartment was clean and cosy. Exactly as It is in the pictures. The location is quite convenient if you flight to and/or from Gatwick airport since the apartament is at 10 min walking distance from Victoria station.

"we enjoyed the space and it was very comfortable ."
location is great!! very clean and quiet
What could be improved: the stairs are a challenge.. especially with luggage ..it would be better with a hand rail . also paper towels in kitchen and a coffee maker should be included .is it common to not have an outlet in the bathroom ?

"A very comfortable stay in a truly charming flat!!"
This is definitely a charming flat. It’s very bright and airy. Also because it’s at the top of the building it’s very quiet.
What could be improved: Don’t think I disliked anything. Only small issue would be lack of storage in the cupboards and wardrobe. They were full of bedding, duvets etc so very little room for anything else.

"Cosy property with great balcony"
Great balcony with views towards Battersea we used to sit out morning and night. Is located 15 mins walk from a large Sainsbury’s supermarket and close to Pimlico with several shops and bars. The property was large enough for 3 people, comfortable double bed and bathroom had lots of storage.
What could be improved: Nothing. There are narrow and steep carpeted stairs to climb if mobility is an issue but fine if you are able bodied and worth it for the views

"Fantastic location with all the ammenities you need in the kitchen. Ideal for 2 people not 3."
The property was in a fantastic location, close to any stop and attraction in the centre of London. The location was also very beautiful on the posh suburb of Pimlico. Marks and Spencer was about a 13 minute walk.
What could be improved: It was the middle of summer in the middle of a heatwave so the apartment was very hot. Air con would be fantastic in this apartment since it is all carpet and only a fan in the living room. We also had a 3rd person so we needed the sofa bed. Unfortunately the sofa bed was only the couch that part extended to make it bigger so there was no padding or pull out bed-just a sheet provided to put underneath you and was quite uncomfortable to sleep on.

"I loved this place, didn't overflow with amenities, but more than adequate for my tastes."
The location was great with good access to the subway, shops and supermarkets, neat restaurants and bars., and churches if you are so inclined. I liked the location, the proximity to transport, the parks and walking around the area.
What could be improved: There was nothing I didn't like. The place was lovely, the balcony was a joy on the nice afternoons and it felt safe and secure. I felt the fan was noisy in the bathroom, but that was a pretty minor matter. It was small, but that suited my tastes also.

"Very good"
Overall, the amenities were excellent, including heating, transportation access, cleanliness, kitchen utensils, towels, bed linens, and more. Despite visiting London during a colder period, the heating worked perfectly, ensuring a comfortable stay. The location was very central, just a short walk to Victoria Bus and Train Stations, making it incredibly convenient. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, adding to the overall comfort. Wi-Fi and TV facilities were sufficient for our needs, and the cleanliness throughout was impeccable, including the kitchen utensils. However, carrying large suitcases to the top floor via stairs turned out to be quite a challenge, and the absence of paper towels or cleaning cloths was a minor inconvenience—possibly an oversight. Despite these small drawbacks, our stay was peaceful, with no major issues. The host was highly responsive, addressing any questions or concerns promptly. I would definitely recommend this place to others!
What could be improved: The cleanliness was excellent overall, but it would have been even better if paper towels or cleaning cloths had been provided. Perhaps it was an oversight, but it’s a small detail that could enhance the experience
