Overview
First Impressions
Charming Chalk Farm Properties sits on Queens Crescent in Camden — and honestly, the name pretty much tells you what you’re getting. It’s one of those converted Victorian properties that feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed home than a traditional hotel. The four-star rating makes sense when you see how thoughtfully everything’s been put together, though don’t expect marble lobbies or doormen in top hats.
The Neighborhood Vibe
You know what I love about this spot? You’re actually living like a local in London rather than being stuck in some touristy bubble. Queens Crescent has this lovely residential feel — there’s a proper street market just around the corner, and you can grab groceries or a quick coffee without fighting through crowds of sightseers. Chalk Farm tube station is maybe a ten-minute walk, which means you can be in central London pretty quickly, but you’ll actually want to come back to this area in the evenings.
The Accommodations
Each apartment feels genuinely different — I mean, they’ve clearly put effort into making sure you’re not getting some cookie-cutter experience. The room I stayed in had these tall Victorian windows that let in amazing light, and the kitchen was actually functional (you could make a proper meal if you wanted to). The furnishings strike that sweet spot between comfortable and stylish — nothing too precious, but definitely a step up from your average London accommodation.
What Works Well
The whole setup just makes sense for how people actually travel these days. Having space to spread out, maybe do some laundry, store groceries — it transforms how you experience a city. The WiFi’s solid (I worked from there a few days), and there’s enough parking nearby that you won’t spend ages circling blocks if you’ve got a car. The building itself is quiet too, which isn’t something you can take for granted in London.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Camden gets a bad rap sometimes for being too touristy, but this little pocket feels completely different. You’ll find yourself walking to the local pub instead of hunting down some famous restaurant, and that’s exactly the point. The property gives you enough independence to create your own London rhythm while still having someone to call if the boiler acts up or you need local recommendations. It’s not trying to be flashy — it’s just trying to be genuinely comfortable, and it succeeds.

"Very good accommodation with all you need for a stay in London near Camden."
Clean and tidy and had everything you needed.
What could be improved: Window was wide open and as it was raining, cill and floor soaked. Lounge Kitchen had a heavy smell of cooking.

"Amazing"
Everything was good, the location, the house was clean. The host also reached out and communicated at all times, thus communication was excellent, instructions were clear and concise. It was a wonderful and comfortable stay for us.
Everything that was mentioned was available and we made good use of them without hassle.
What could be improved: First, the tv tend to go off and on time to time. We were not able to have complete access to netflix as well. Lastly, i will suggest if the outside environment around the house that leads to the steps downstairs be kept a bit tidy as this will also help.

"Nice huge flat but very noisy and horrible location."
The flat itself was very nice. Huge! Especially to London standard. It was very comfortable and very clean. A good value for money if you need al the rooms.
What could be improved: The location was pretty bad, with junkies on the streets, quite noisy and far from everything. No soundproofing, no blinds.

"Great location. Very helpful host!!"
The location was great. There is heaps of construction going on in the street outside so it was a bit rough getting to the property and very loud with the jackhammers during the day. Loved the access to trains and Camden in general. Host was amazing and so helpful with our group as we arrived very early from an international flight and Akra was Very accommodating and helpful.
What could be improved: Apartment a bit dated with some of the cabinets malfunctioning. Not many hooks or storage capacity in the apartment. No starter supplies like shampoo or laundry detergent or dishwasher pods. We had to buy all of these on our own. Wi-Fi only works well in the living room and once you were outside of the zone, it is quite spotty.

"Very mixed experience"
Lovely spacious apartment, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and good shower.
What could be improved: The instructions for finding the apartment were not great, I struggled to identify which was the right door to access the apartment from the street. The area is pretty rundown and there was quite a bit of noise from the street at night; the window blind in the bedroom was broken so I couldn't shut out the light at night. Wifi wasn't working for the entirety of my stay; I reported it to the host who said he would get it fixed but it wasn't fixed during the 3 days I was there. Police waking me up at 11.30pm on the final evening ringing the doorbell because some sort of incident had taken place in the apartment next door and they wanted to know if I'd heard anything, wasn't the best end to my stay.

"Short stay good option"
The shower was very good, and the kitchen was well equipped for the short stay. The towels were provided and soft for washing. The TV worked well, and there was enough space for two. Some places to buy food close by, and the underground was only a ten minute stroll.
What could be improved: The place was good overall. It was a hot weekend, so windows needed to be open, and it was very noisy late at night and early in the morning. There was only one fan however, we did not ask for an extra one but the owner kept in touch so I am sure one would have been brought to us. Some touch-ups could be done inside, and thicker mattresses would be good.

"Nice flat in kentish town"
The flat was very spacious and had 4 nice rooms. It was very clean and the host was always very nice and available. The entrance is a bit difficult to find but the host was very kind to send us videos before our stay showing how to get in easily.
What could be improved: The area is not super safe and quiet. At night a lot of people are in the street drunk. That's of course no one's fault, it's just something to keep in mind.
