Overview

First Impressions

Cosy Studio in Ruislip is one of those places that doesn’t try to be anything more than what it promises — and honestly, that’s refreshing. Located right by South Ruislip Station, this three-star studio feels more like staying in a well-appointed local flat than a traditional hotel. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of Ruislip, but step inside and you’ll find a clean, thoughtfully arranged space that actually lives up to its name.

The Space & Setup

The room is compact but cleverly designed — everything has its place without feeling cramped. What I appreciated most was the kitchenette setup; it’s not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actually functional enough to prepare proper meals if you’re staying more than a night or two. The bed is comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and there’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re living out of a suitcase.

Location Benefits

Being steps from South Ruislip Station is the real winner here. You’re on the Central and Piccadilly lines, which means central London is about 45 minutes away — not bad at all for the price difference you’ll get compared to staying in Zone 1. The neighborhood itself is quiet, residential, with a few local pubs and a Tesco nearby for essentials. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real London suburban life.

Practical Considerations

The 7.5 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the money. This isn’t a place with a fancy lobby or room service, but the essentials are all sorted properly. The Wi-Fi works well (tested it for work calls), and the shower has decent pressure. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but that’s pretty standard for this area — though being so close to the station means you might not need a car anyway.

Why It Works

Look, if you want London hotel glamour, this isn’t your spot. But if you need a clean, functional base that won’t drain your wallet while keeping you connected to the city, Cosy Studio in Ruislip delivers exactly that. It’s particularly good for longer stays where having that kitchen space makes a real difference to your daily routine and budget.

"185 the fairway"
Helpful and friendly owner, great location, close to bus routes and shops/ High Street, easy and secure doors, great underfloor heating, nice shower/ water pressure and temp, comfy mattress, offers of tea, coffee, sugar tins great, good towels+sheets, easy to use instructions for washing machine
What could be improved: Washing machine loud enough to drown out tv, no instructions for electric oven, TV signal regularly dropped during programs/ turned off, TV position awkward angle from both bed and chair, shower screen door not working effectively (not staying open or in position) to use as partition, not enough pillows needed for bed, bugs all over window/ curtain when entered property first day and continued, oven tray appeared unclean effectively and washing up liquid was watery and did not help clean dishes when used

"Much worse than expected..."
Nothing. It was cheap, but not good value for the money.
What could be improved: It took us over 40 minutes to get inside due to the fact that the keys were hidden inside a featureless meter box without handles or keys. Communication was not great either - the neighbors finally helped us to get in. Once inside, we found the room not to match the pictures. The bed was moved away from the back wall, a wardrobe shoved sideways behind it leaving the bed to hang in the middle and - I kid you not - there was a FRIDGE by the bottom. The bed itself was hard, squeaky, and had a thin mattress and a thinner, single blanket on it. The room was freezing, and no heater was to be found. The only available lights were the fluorescent bulbs installed in the ceiling - way too bright, and cold. The room itself was obviously at some point a kind of corridor between the front door and a flimsy door to the backyard, which felt unsafe. There was nothing cozy or pleasant about this place, and we left within an hour of arriving, rebooking elsewhere. The closest metro - this is London - was 20 minutes away. Avoid.
