Overview
First Impressions
Charming 2 Bed, Walk to Borough Market, Elephant & Castle, Tower Bridge pretty much does what it says on the tin — though honestly, the name tells you everything you need to know about the location. This apartment sits in a converted building on Albany Road, and while it’s not exactly in the heart of tourist central, that’s actually part of its appeal. The entrance feels a bit tucked away, but once you’re inside, it’s clear someone’s put real thought into making this feel like home rather than just another rental.
The Space Itself
The two-bedroom setup works really well for families or friends traveling together — I mean, you’ve got proper separation without feeling cramped. The main room flows nicely into the kitchen area, which is actually well-equipped (not one of those joke kitchens with just a kettle). The furniture feels thoughtfully chosen rather than just thrown together, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase the entire time. The windows let in decent light, though you’re looking out at typical London residential views — nothing fancy, but it feels authentic.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s where this four-star place really shines — the walk to Borough Market takes about fifteen minutes, and it’s genuinely pleasant once you figure out the route. You know what surprised me? How easy it is to get to Tower Bridge from here, maybe twenty minutes on foot if you don’t mind a bit of walking. London transport connections are solid too — Elephant & Castle station isn’t far, though the area around the station itself is still a bit rough around the edges. The neighborhood has this emerging feel to it, lots of young professionals but still plenty of authentic London character.
Daily Life
Borough Market becomes your weekend ritual when you stay here — honestly, it’s dangerous having all that incredible food so close by. There’s a Tesco Express nearby for basics, plus a few decent pubs within walking distance that locals actually use (always a good sign). The parking situation is typical London street parking, so factor that in if you’re driving. What I really appreciated was having space to spread out in the evenings — after a day of sightseeing, you want somewhere that feels like a proper retreat, not just a place to crash.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t about fancy amenities or concierge service — it’s about having a genuine London base that doesn’t feel touristy or sterile. The value makes sense when you consider you’re getting two proper bedrooms and your own kitchen in a city where hotel rooms cost a fortune. Families especially seem to appreciate having space to actually live rather than just sleep, and the location lets you experience London more like a resident than a visitor. It’s the kind of place where you end up discovering your own favorite coffee shop around the corner and feeling like you’ve found a little slice of real London life.
Locals suggest to book apartments in London around South Bank for riverside dining, market stops, and easy city crossings.

"Lovely location, cosy short-term modern warehouse style pad"
Cool warehouse style modern layout, clean, en-suite shower, they even supplied handwash, shampoo and shower gels! Great location, fab pub (Crabtree) and cafe (Ly) as well as Fulham football club close by, easy for parking, cosy beds even if they are coil-sprung mattresses, good facilities. Nice river walk. Relatively quiet.
What could be improved: No air con, no fan. Bring your own. Washing machine is great but there is no dryer. Some flickering spot-lights. Bed not good for someone with back issues. No lamp on side table in bedrooms, no exteactor fan in one of the bathrooms. Front door step trip hazard and top step down. Kitchen better for tall people.

"When they change the mattresses this would be my goto place in London, without a doubt."
It is in a really lovely quiet safe location - a 5 minute walk to the Thames path with delightful green walks in both directions (with parakeets!) There is a sweet small cafe across the road if you want breakfasts, snacks or coffee. A bus stop at the top of the road (Lillie Road stop) has buses running regularly to Kensington for the museums and central London. Baron's Court Tube station is an easy walk and pleasantly uncrowded and will take you along the District Line to central London. The apartment is bright and airy with a good kitchen layout and two bedrooms both en-suite arranged on above the other. Good showers. Overall we were very pleased.
What could be improved: It's true what they say about the beds, sadly, not comfortable and need replacing. There are sheets drying in the dining area - to be honest I'm not sure where else they could dry their laundry - maybe just send it to a laundry... cutlery, crockery and cooking pans etc were adequate but a bit random. I was stressed that I didn't get access details until the very morning I was setting off (didn't sleep the night before worrying since I was told I would get them 24 hours before arrival). However I did feel whoever was answering my emails was trying their best but unable to do more.

"Great place, not great host - watch out for that "damage deposit""
Location was amazing. There's a bus running to/from Trafalgar square every couple of minutes that gets you there in 20 minutes. Other locations very easy, too. Wonderful park right next door, great for a jog or a walk. Grocery store across the street.
You can fit 4 people on 2 couches in the expansive living room|dining room|kitchen, plus 4 more in the two bedrooms. Obviously the 4 in the living room will have less privacy. Also mind that one bathroom. Those 8 people better take quick showers.
What could be improved: The host demands a "damage deposit" which no other property required (we've used 5+ on this trip). I haven't gotten my deposit back and it's been 2 weeks.
UPDATE: after I posted my review the host promised to give me my deposit back. It's been 2 days, still waiting.
People be careful online. As a rule, you should NOT respond to requests for payment outside the website where you transacted business. Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, whatever. Stay inside the lines. This site included, which advises its users:
"Stay safe online
Booking.com will charge your card automatically and notify you when the payment is successful. Report any payment requests you receive and avoid clicking on payment links. "
It is possible the deposit was mentioned in the listing. It is there now.

"A great stay in Fulham"
Great stay and a very clean and modern apartment. The shower bidet in the bathroom was a nice surprise.
What could be improved: Noisy if you are a light sleeper. Can hear the planes and road noises
