When I first walked up to Central London – The Shoreditch, Angel, Old Street Apartment on Wenlock Street, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment stay. But you know what? This four-star place completely changed my mind about serviced apartments. The building sits right in the sweet spot between Shoreditch’s buzzing energy and the calmer residential pockets of Hackney — it’s that perfect location where you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist.
The Space That Works
The room itself feels more like borrowing a friend’s really well-designed flat than staying in traditional hotel accommodation. There’s a proper kitchen with everything you actually need (not just a sad mini-fridge), and I mean everything — decent knives, real plates, even a proper coffee setup. I spent most evenings cooking simple meals while watching the street life below, which honestly became one of my favorite parts of the whole stay.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot in London — you’re walking distance from Old Street Station, but you’re tucked away from the main road chaos. Angel is literally around the corner, and I found myself wandering over there for morning coffee runs more often than I care to admit. The whole area has this creative energy without feeling too trendy or intimidating, if that makes sense.
The Neighborhood Experience
What really sold me on this place was how it let me experience London like someone who actually lives here. There’s a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant just two minutes away that I never would have discovered from a typical hotel zone, and the weekend markets nearby became part of my routine. You’ll find yourself grocery shopping at the local Sainsbury’s and genuinely enjoying it — which sounds weird, but trust me on this one.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.8 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that rare combination of independence and comfort that works whether you’re in town for business or just exploring. The staff actually knows your name after day one, parking isn’t the nightmare you’d expect in this part of London, and honestly, you’ll probably find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out. It’s not flashy or over-the-top — it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it is.

We absolutely loved our stay and will most certainly return. Inga's apartment is beautiful. It is exceptionally clean and has everything you could possibly need for a fantastic stay. It is really well located and so comfortable and cosy. A true oasis on a jam packed trip to London. Inga was so helpful and provided brilliant information on facilities in the local area. I can't say enough for the accommodation, it was truly exceptional.

"Quite Simply The Perfect Place to Stay"
Our 4th stay and this time we upgraded to the 2 Bedroom Apartment as a treat as it was a special birthday… as always the apartment was spotless, with everything you could ever need throughout your stay. Inga really does think of everything, from her friendly welcome outside to the fresh scones, jam and huge selection of herbal teas. The location is superb, walking distance of Angel and old street underground’s on the northern line, so a great base for seeing everything. You can easily walk to Shoreditch/brick Lane/Spitalfields and Islington for fantastic food choices. I always end up booking our next trips before I leave because we love our London home from home so much. Thanks again Inga.

"Fantastic, perfect!"
This is a perfect family/group stay in the heart of London. Very good location.
Brilliant/perfect facilities, everything you can think of! Everything was clean and tidy. The smell was brilliant too.
Our host was nothing short of perfect. Very grateful to have met the host. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much once again for this lovely stay.

"Exceptional"
Lovely clean, spacious apartment. Small little details like home made tea, scones and cream in the fridge. Well stocked toiletries and small details like hairdryers, coffee machine and tea and coffee.

"Exceptional"
A convenient location in the Shoreditch area only about 10 minutes walk from the tube station. This is a well appointed and comfortable flat. It felt the most homely of any of the rental properties that we have stayed in over the years. Inga, the host is readily available to answer any questions you may have by text.

"Truly a home away from home!!"
Everything. The apartment is roomy, pleasant and comfortable. It is located in a great spot - not far from a commercial road with a market and places to eat. It's also near the Regent's Canal and from there you can easily walk to Islington Upper Street (and Camden Passage) with its incredible variety of restaurants and cafes. The Old Street Station of the underground is about a ten minute walk and is on the Northern Line which makes it accessible to all the Central London lines. This is the third time I have stayed here with either friends or family and I keep coming back because of all of the above and also because Inga is such a wonderful host.
What could be improved: Nothing.

"Exceptional"
Inga was an amazing host, she was warm, responsive, and thoughtful. The flat had absolutely everything you could need, even the small things you might forget like slippers! It’s located in a lovely, calm area with no noise from outside, and we slept really well. Everything was spotless and perfectly arranged, we highly recommend it and we will be back again for sure 😊

The most well stocked and homeliest apartment I may have ever stayed at as a guest. Inga’s thought of everything you could ever wish for. And place is tucked away in a lovely quiet spot, yet only a 10 minute walk from either tube or bus.

"If you’re thinking of booking here, don’t hesitate any longer!"
I travel a lot and don’t often go back to the same place but this is officially my go-to for London trips. Exceeded expectations, this is your home away from home. Spacious, immaculately clean, Inga has thought of everything and managed to do it in such a curated and beautiful way. From the carefully thought through textiles to the luxurious cosmetics, you will truly feel at home or better! You could spend the whole weekend in Shoreditch, pampering yourself in the apartment and trying a new tea everyday and still not get through everything, nevermind the close proximity to the rest of London. Part work/part leisure trip, it was amazing to come “home” and spa the feet, slip on an eye mask or enjoy the homemade tea, scones and rhubarb jam. Thanks so much Inga, you’re a host like no other ❤️
