Centra Station caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know what I expected from a hotel on Station Road in London’s N22 area? Something pretty basic, honestly. Instead, I found this four-star property that actually feels thoughtfully designed rather than thrown together.
The Neighborhood Reality
Let me be straight with you about the location — you’re in Wood Green, not central London. But here’s the thing I discovered: Alexandra Palace is literally a ten-minute walk away, and that changes everything. The whole area has this residential feel that’s actually quite refreshing after dealing with tourist crowds all day. Plus, the tube connections are solid once you figure out the local routes.
What Your Room Actually Offers
My room was bigger than I anticipated, which seems to be a theme here. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not that “hotel comfortable” where you’re just being polite. There’s decent storage space, and the bathroom setup works well for getting ready without bumping into your travel companion every five minutes.
The Food Situation
The restaurant serves breakfast that’ll actually fuel your day rather than just tick a box. I mean, you’re not going to write home about it, but the coffee’s strong and there are proper cooked options alongside the continental spread. What I really appreciated was the timing — they don’t rush you out, which makes those early London planning sessions much more pleasant.
Why Guests Actually Stay Here
Here’s what I think works about Centra Station: it delivers on the practical stuff without cutting corners on comfort. The staff know the area well enough to give you actual directions rather than just pointing vaguely toward the tube. Parking is available if you’re driving, which isn’t something you can say about most London hotels. Honestly, it’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly, and don’t feel like you’re compromising just because you’re not paying Mayfair prices.

What could be improved: Little hard to find as it’s not on google maps. No reception, so no opportunity to drop bags during the day.

"For the price it’s well worth a night or 2 - ideal for the darts at Ally Pally"
The location for Alexandra Palace was great, only a 20min walk away. It was easy to get to and only 300 yards or so from the Wood Green tube station exit.
The apartment was basic but very clean. It was enough for the one night we stayed. Clear communication from the host about how to enter etc. Ideal place for a base, felt secure with a keypad lock on each door.
What could be improved: If I’m being picky, there was only enough supplies to make one hot drink during our stay each. It would have been nice for some more so we could have had a hot drink when we got there and in the morning.

It was very clean
What could be improved: Internet just didn’t work at all, I always had to use my phone as hotspot for my laptop, and I sent few messages to the property about that, but the rude answer has been that was only my problem and I needed to change the settings of my laptop. But as the picture shows, even their tv was without internet.

"Everything was great except the heating"
Great location, very vlose to the underground.
Spatious room.
What could be improved: Everything was okay, except it was very cold in the room when we arrived, around 9 celsius and although we started the heating right away it took 2 days for the temperature to be bearable.

"Very good value of money, clean, and a nice place!"
As soon as the property was cleaned we were told so we could check in early. I’ve never had this before and although we weren’t getting to London till 2 we were told we could check in just fine 12. Thought this is incredible.
Plenty of space especially for a place in London, bed was comfortable and place was very clean
What could be improved: Only had one pillow per person, really could do with 2 per person, the hobs didn’t work but that wasn’t the end of the world for us. In the morning could smell a bad smell in the bathroom.

very spacious room, hot water and all amenities work perfectly fine. the heating worked well, but it is a general problem of British houses that they are not properly isolated, forgot about it when living in Europe for some years now. very warm duvet that helped. will definitely stay there again. very convenient location.
