Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Bright and Cosy home 100m from Trafalgar Square, you immediately understand why they chose that name — it’s exactly what it says on the tin. The space feels genuinely homey rather than hotel-sterile, which honestly surprised me given how close it is to all the tourist madness. You know what struck me first? The natural light flooding through the windows and how they’ve managed to make a central London property feel so welcoming.

Location That Actually Matters

I mean, 100 meters from Trafalgar Square isn’t just marketing speak — you can literally pop out for photos with the lions and be back in your room within minutes. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: being on Whitehall means you’re walking distance from Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Thames, but you’re also perfectly positioned for West End shows. The National Gallery is right there, and I found myself ducking in during rainy afternoons more than once.

The Living Space

This four-star place gets the “home” part right — the apartment setup means you’ve got proper space to spread out, not just a cramped hotel box. The kitchenette is actually functional (I made proper coffee every morning), and the living area gives you somewhere to unwind that isn’t your bed. The decor walks that fine line between stylish and comfortable, though I’ll be honest — some of the furniture shows its age a bit.

Practical Comforts

What I appreciated most was how everything just worked without fuss. The heating was consistent (crucial in London), the WiFi was solid for work calls, and the shower had proper water pressure. There’s no restaurant on-site, but with Borough Market and countless pubs within walking distance, that’s hardly a problem. Plus, having that kitchen means you can grab groceries from the nearby Sainsbury’s and save a fortune on London dining prices.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or a rooftop bar — but that’s sort of the point. You’re staying in what feels like a friend’s well-appointed flat in one of London’s most central spots, paying less than you would for a cramped hotel room in the same area. The 8.5 rating makes perfect sense when you factor in the location, the space, and that genuine cosy atmosphere they’ve created. It’s the kind of place where you actually look forward to coming “home” after a day of sightseeing.

Best hotels in London blend skyline terraces, modern British style, and classic English breakfast spreads.

"Would definitely recommend."
Central to everything we wanted to see and do. It really is bright and cosy and comfortable. Owner very responsive and helpful when we initially couldn’t access the key box.
What could be improved: The entrance was a bit messy upon arrival, however did not reflect the quality of the unit. Steep stairs to reach the flat which is only relevant if you’re not good with stairs & heavy bags.

"A super apartment in a fantastic location."
The apartment was spotlessly clean, had everything that we could need with super comfy beds and in an amazing location. Would not hesitate to recommend.
What could be improved: We could not fault this apartment in any way.

"A gem in the centre of London!"
This bright pretty apartment is literally on the main road leading to Trafalgar Square. You look out your balcony and see the square on one side and Big Ben on the other! It had every amenity … washing machine , iron, ironing board, 2 x hairdryers. We had a move welcome kit with prosecco, nuts, olives, crackers, cereal… just fantastic! The big bedroom windows opened and you could literally see the people on the top level of the double decker buses but closing the double glazed windows shut out all the noise .
What could be improved: Nothing . It’s not cheap but that’s London in the summer

Great location. Lots of restaurants nearby. Walking distance to theatres and so many other attractions. Good access to various tube lines. Appreciated the welcome gifts as well!
What could be improved: Bathroom was chilly. Bought a corkscrew as there wasn't one.

"Nice in-and-out location and to crash!"
Location was hard to beat if you’re planning on really touring the city. Three metro stops are within a short walk, theaters, museums, sandwiched near 4 awesome pubs, Tesco and Pret a Manger right around the corner. Shockingly quiet inside with nice amenities. Beds were super comfy with lots of nice pillows. Owners were super helpful and accommodating!
What could be improved: Air flow is a bit lacking. The windows open out on the street. We opened them early morning to get some fresh air, but when it gets busy, there was always cigarette smoke wafting in. No biggie. Each room has nice fans though. Bathroom was a little dim, but the shower was fully enclosed! Not as bright as photos, but think they swapped out some of the lightbulbs in the kitchen.

The apartment is in a perfect location, in the heart of London. There were compliments from the host. The host is responsive and we had great communication.
What could be improved: For three adults and a child of 16 it is not comfortable to sleep because the bed in one bedroom is small. There were no sheets provided for the sofa. The lighting in the kitchen area is weak and insufficient.

"Uncomfortably hot - good location."
Location
What could be improved: Bedrooms were too hot - if you opened the windows was too noisy - bus stop right in front of the window. And if you close the windows gets even more hot. For the price I would have expected better climate control
