The kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to cook (and with Whitecross Street Market literally at your doorstep, you’ll probably want to). The living area flows naturally into the sleeping space, creating this cozy but not cramped feeling that’s perfect after a long day exploring the city. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in such a vibrant area.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s where this place really shines — the location is just incredible. Whitecross Street Market runs right outside, and honestly, it’s one of London’s best-kept secrets. Every Thursday and Friday, the street transforms into this amazing food market with everything from proper British pies to Vietnamese banh mi. You’re also a five-minute walk from Old Street station, which means you can get pretty much anywhere in London without the usual transport headaches.

Local Flavor

The Barbican Centre is practically next door, so if you’re into arts and culture, you’ve hit the jackpot. But what I really love about this area is how it feels like real London — there’s this great mix of creative types, finance workers, and long-time residents. The Eagle pub around the corner does excellent gastropub food, and there’s a proper old-school café called Campbell & Syme that serves the kind of breakfast that’ll keep you going all day. Location great - street market, love it. The host was very responsive, and the new bathroom was a real highlight that made my stay even better. The damage deposit was refunded quickly, which I really appreciated. Overall, a very positive experience!

The place is quiet and close to shops. It had everything you might need to prepare breakfast.
What could be improved: Outside, the air conditioner was very loud and could be clearly heard in the bedroom. When the window is opened, an unpleasant smell comes from the cafés below. The fold-out bed was very uncomfortable. We received many instructions, but the hosts should explain more clearly where the apartment is located. Instead of sending instructions on how to turn on the stove, they should provide a photo of the apartment door from the outside. The deposit is 600 euros, which has not yet been returned (they state it will be refunded within 14 business days).
