Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Bijou flat on Broadway Market, you can’t help but notice how perfectly it fits into this corner of Hackney. The building has that classic East London charm — red brick, Victorian bones, but with a modern twist that doesn’t try too hard. I mean, this is Broadway Market we’re talking about, so everything here has to have a bit of character, and this place definitely delivers on that front.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is what sold me on this apartment. You’re literally steps away from one of London‘s best Saturday markets — I’m talking proper artisanal coffee, fresh bread, and vintage finds that actually don’t cost a fortune. The canal is right there too, which means you can walk along Regent’s Canal all the way to Angel if you’re feeling ambitious. On weekdays, when the market stalls aren’t up, it’s surprisingly quiet for such a well-connected spot.
The Space
This four-star flat really makes the most of its compact footprint. The kitchen is small but functional — you know, the kind where everything has its place and actually works properly. The room feels bigger than it probably is, thanks to those tall Victorian windows that let in loads of natural light. The whole place has been done up thoughtfully, with enough personality to feel homey but not so much that it’s overwhelming.
Daily Life Here
What I really appreciated was how easy it made exploring this part of East London feel. You can grab your morning coffee from one of the local spots (there’s this brilliant little place called Climpson & Sons just around the corner), then spend the day wandering through the backstreets of Hackney. The transport links are solid too — London Fields station is a short walk, and you’ve got several bus routes that’ll get you into central London without much fuss.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It doesn’t feel like a typical holiday rental where everything’s beige and generic. The owners clearly know the area well and have put together something that feels like a real home base for exploring East London. Sure, it’s not massive, but that’s sort of the point — you’re not here to hide away in your accommodation, you’re here to experience one of London’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The fact that you can walk to Broadway Market for Saturday breakfast and then stroll along the canal makes it feel like you’re living like a local rather than just passing through.

"Perfect bolt hole to stay in London - quiet in the week and bustling at the weekend."
We loved staying here and will hopefully return when we next visit London again.
What could be improved: The only thing I can think of is perhaps a recessed handle on the inside of the bathroom door!
Everything else was wonderful.

"Comfortable well located apartment with great amenities"
Quite spacious for a London flat. Well located for me as my daughter lives nearby.
What could be improved: Not many issues actually. The noise from downstairs that others complained about was very minimal and as their are two doors between the bedroom and the front windows that face the street it was very easily blocked out completely

"Cute apartment in iconic London location"
Tidy, well-presented and clean apartment. Like an ikea show home!
Check in was easy to follow and we were kindly allowed to check in at 2pm instead of 3pm. The apartment backs on to other apartments so you can’t hear market road noise from the bedroom.
What could be improved: No aircon was hard during a classic London heatwave.
Location was central, and convenient but not the most user friendly for transport - a bit of a dead spot I guess due to park and markets. A minor though as we enjoyed biking in summer anyway!

"Our stay"
The location was just what we needed.
What could be improved: The bathrooms door was unpractical.

"Very good"
I liked everything! The apartment is located right above the Broadway Market, cafes, pubs and very close to the Regents Canal. The apartment is cozy and comfortable. The owners were always super helpful, they kept everything organized and always sent us all the information. We will return for sure.
What could be improved: There is some lack of kitchen utensils. Some things in the kitchen drawers were poorly washed. And I think you could make the sofa bed, especially for those arriving from far away and late check-in.

"Excellent small apartment, very well located for Broadway market, local shops and eateries."
Location was excellent, right on Broadway market
What could be improved: A number of the lights weren't working- possibly needed replacement bulbs? There was sliding bathroom door which had no handle on the inside. it also didn't fit particularly well! We would have liked an electric kettle.

"Superb"
Great location. Super clean and cozy.
What could be improved: Quite small. Sliding bathroom door provides very little privacy especially when it’s right next to the bed.

"Nice For the Value"
Thank you to the hosts for the flexibility of allowing us to leave our bags on the property before our check in time due to our flight arriving early in the AM, we truly appreciated. This was a cozy little flat with a nice location. Nearest underground was a 12 min walk away. We found waking up to the weekend market to be very charming. It was quiet as well.
What could be improved: Picking up and dropping off the key at a different location. The shower was difficult to navigate at first, but we figured it out.

"Fantastic flat in a superb location"
The location was brilliant. Also surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of a market at the weekend.
I found the flat well appointed with a very comfortable bed.
What could be improved: It would have been helpful to have a microwave.
I was there by myself but feel it would be very small for four adults as advertised.
