Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked up to 1 Bedroom property in East London on Parr Road, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect — and honestly, that turned out to be part of its charm. This isn’t your typical hotel with a flashy lobby or doorman, but rather something more intimate and residential. The building sits quietly in Newham, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a real feel for London beyond the tourist bubble.
The Space Itself
The apartment feels like staying in someone’s thoughtfully designed home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. There’s a proper kitchen — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation — which means you can actually cook if you want to save money or just fancy a quiet breakfast at home. I found myself spending more time here than I initially planned, partly because the space genuinely felt comfortable and partly because East London has this way of growing on you.
The Neighborhood Reality
Look, Newham isn’t Covent Garden, and I’m not going to pretend it is. But here’s the thing — it’s real London, where actual people live and work. The transport links are better than you’d think (East Ham station is walkable), and you’ll find proper local spots within a few minutes’ walk. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t feel like it was designed exclusively for tourists, you know?
What Actually Works
The 9.2 rating makes sense once you spend a night here. Everything works as it should — the WiFi doesn’t cut out during video calls, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. I mean, these aren’t glamorous details, but they’re the ones that actually matter when you’re trying to get some rest or catch up on work.
Why Guests Love It
This place works best for travelers who want independence without sacrificing comfort. You’re not paying for services you won’t use, but you’re getting a genuine base in London that feels more authentic than most hotel experiences. The value proposition is solid — especially considering what a similar setup would cost you in Zone 1. It’s the kind of place you’d recommend to friends who actually want to experience London rather than just tick boxes on a tourist checklist.

"Gorgeous apartment but sorry I couldn’t return after fracturing my femur in Tenerife"
I love the property. I’ve stayed there before. I stayed there for 4 nights and left for Tenerife with my London based family, intending to return from 15th to 19th. The day I arrived in Tenerife I had an accident and fractured my femur badly. I had surgery and am still in hospital in Tenerife. I let the owner know what happened as soon as I could and told him I would not be returning for the second part of my stay but he never answered.
What could be improved: I love the property but was just surprised I didn’t hear from the owner after my accident

"A home away from home!"
I’ve stayed in countless accommodations on this app as I travel frequently and this is by far the best one I’ve stayed in. It is so well equipped and has everything you could possibly need - it truly is a home away from home. The host was also very easy to contact and the check-in / check-out process was very simple and convenient.
What could be improved: The location isn’t the most ideal however it is close to excellent public transport links so this wouldn’t deter me from booking to stay here again

"Perfect accommodation for my stay for work. Made a refreshing change from poor hotels. Would highly recommend this place"
Everything that you could possibly need.
Lovely and clean.
Excellent bathroom
Comfy bed
Well equipped kitchen
What could be improved: Parking. I managed to get parked every night but couldn’t park until 6.30pm so when I left work I had to find somewhere to kill time. But that’s no reflection on the property or the owner. That seems to be London itself and as I am from the north it’s just not what I’m used to.

"It was a pleasant stay"
I like the fact that the property literally had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
What could be improved: I would have loved if the property had instructions on how to operate the heating system. I was initially worried when I wasn’t getting hot water in the bath as I wanted and when the heater wasn’t coming on. I later noticed the heating system had a timer which had to be adjusted if you want the property heated outside of the timer setting.
