Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Artist’s Bright Hampstead Heath Village 2 bed on Parliament Hill, you immediately get the sense that you’ve stumbled onto something special. This isn’t your typical hotel — it’s actually more like staying in a local artist’s stylish apartment, which honestly makes the whole experience feel more authentic. The building itself has that classic London charm, and you’re literally steps away from Hampstead Heath, which I mean, you can’t really put a price on that kind of access.

The Space

Inside, the two-bedroom setup gives you proper breathing room — something you don’t often find in London accommodations at this price point. The artist theme isn’t just marketing fluff; there’s genuine creative energy in the space with thoughtful artwork and design touches that feel curated rather than mass-produced. The kitchen is well-equipped enough that you could actually cook a decent meal if you wanted to skip the restaurant scene for a night, though honestly, with Borough Market just a tube ride away, you might not want to.

Location Perks

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Camden but tucked away from the tourist chaos. Parliament Hill means you can walk up to one of the best viewpoints in London whenever you want, and locals actually use this path for their morning runs. The village feel of this particular corner is real; there’s a proper community vibe that you pick up on pretty quickly. Plus, getting into central London is straightforward, but you’ve got this peaceful retreat to come back to.

What Works Well

The three-star rating actually undersells what you get here — it’s more about the informal setup than any lack of quality. Everything feels clean and well-maintained, and the space has enough personality that you’re not dealing with that sterile hotel room feeling. The two bedrooms make it work brilliantly for friends traveling together or families who need a bit of space to spread out. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details, like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets where you actually need them.

Why Guests Love It

It’s the combination of creative atmosphere and genuine London neighborhood living that keeps people coming back. You’re staying somewhere with character — not just another identical room in a chain hotel. The Heath access alone makes this place worth considering, especially if you’re someone who needs green space to feel balanced while traveling. At a 7.3 rating, you’re looking at solid value rather than perfection, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want: a place that feels real and lived-in rather than polished to within an inch of its life.

"Quite worn down, but clean and great location."
The apartment is located in a very cute area with easy access to the main tourist attractions of London by bus. Lots of cute cafés, restaurants, delicatessen, and a gorgeous park at the end of the street. Away from the hustle and bustle in a very safe area, while still giving easy access to London's main attractions.
What could be improved: The apartment was quite worn down. The entrance (stairs and door to the apartment) were cramped and dark. Inside the apartment, items were stacked against walls and in corners, giving a cluttered feeling. Even though the apartment was very clean, the worn down appearance of everything gave a bad impression.

"A good stay in a great location with some inconsistencies."
Our first experience with this accommodation was the communication with the hosts, who invited us to a WhatsApp group and sent frequent messages via Booking.com - they were extremely friendly and helpful. Cannot fault the service at all. Collecting the keys was very easy too, picking them up from a shop right around the corner from the property. The property was nice and spacious, in a beautiful location. Very easy to find and check-in. We enjoyed the local area and walks over Hampstead Heath, which we'd not visited before despite multiple prior trips to London. Lots of shops nearby and also good transport links. The walk to Belsize Park underground station from the property only took 10-15 minutes and from there you are connected to London via the Northern line. Very comfortable space for 4 people, bedrooms were big enough and despite the kitchen being small we were able to cook a big breakfast. Lounge and bathroom were a good size too. Plenty of bedding, towels, toiletries, etc. in the property when we arrived, making it a comfortable stay. Beds were very comfortable with the quilt in the main bedroom being especially lovely. Good Wi-Fi and availability of streaming services on the TV. Nicely furnished and the number of house plants made the property feel very lived-in. There were lots of amenities which are fairly uncommon, i.e. a lint roller, umbrellas, a Bluetooth speaker, and a clothes airer which were a really nice touch. Plenty of coat hangers too. You can travel very lightly to this property and still have everything that you need. Check-out was very efficient too, simply returning the keys to the pick-up point. We were informed that we could not have a late check-out, due to the cleaner wanting to arrive early, but this was not a problem for us on this particular stay.
What could be improved: There were a few issues with the cleanliness of this property. We found that most of the cutlery and cookware had not been washed before we arrived, with visible food stains on them. As a result of this, we had to wash everything before use as we could not trust the hygiene of any cutlery, crockery, or cookware. Lots of dust on some of the blankets and furniture too. The sofa bed was a bit odd, as the bedding was quite well hidden and a few of the slats under the mattress were missing - meaning the support was lacking. We also had to create a barrier between the kitchen to the lounge where the sofa bed was located, as there is no door to the kitchen and no blind in the kitchen window - meaning that the sofa bed is entirely exposed to the kitchen window. If we hadn't done this, there would be no privacy for the user of the sofa bed and it would also have allowed too much light in as the sun rose in the mornings. The shower was poor, with actual temperature being totally unaffected by the temperature dial. It would just start warm, and get hotter, until it ended up being scolding - even if the temperature dial was turned down to its lowest setting. If water was used elsewhere in the property the pressure would reduce and the temperature would drop very cold. It was not a comfortable shower to use. Glass in the windows was very thin, so outside noise was quite disruptive. There was a lot of construction outside the property when we stayed, which isn't the fault of the hosts, however it did cause some disruption while sleeping due to the thin glass in the windows.

"Cosy and comfortable but not the cleanest"
Spacious and cosy apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great location just a stones throw away from hampstead heath and local amenities.
What could be improved: Wasn't the cleanest. The toilet seat and bowl was stained, which was quite off-putting. Thankfully, there was cleaning equipment in the apartment; however, I expect the facilities to be thoroughly cleaned before arrival, especially as I paid over £250 for a night.

"It was an affordable two-bedroom place with a bathroom. That's what we were looking for."
The property is in a nice location, adjacent to Hampstead Heath and a bunch of small restaurants and coffee places in Hampstead village. The overground station is just around the corner which was very handy.
What could be improved: The furniture is a bit second-year student; the sofa in the living room is much easier to get into than out of and the beds are not very comfortable. It's a perfectly practical place to stay but it's more eccentric than elegant.

"Very very enjoyable."
I liked the fact that it was so lovely and bright and fresh. It was very warm and cozy.Very near the Heath and the village with shops and restaurants. If I was to go back again to Hampstead, I would certainly stay there.

"charming and comfortable apartment in the perfect location"
charming and comfortable apartment in the perfect location. There is a park nearby and many wonderful cafes and pubs. Two steps from the metro. everything is thought out in the apartment down to the smallest detail
What could be improved: the keys had to be picked up not in the box but in a separate place
