Overview
First Impressions
Amazing holidays home with a terrace sits quietly on a leafy residential street in Camden — and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking for it. That’s actually part of its charm. This four-star place feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s house than a typical hotel, which I mean in the best possible way.
The Space
The room I stayed in had this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake — proper wooden furniture, decent-sized windows, and none of that sterile hotel feeling you get in chain places. The real winner though is that terrace they mention in the name. It’s not huge, but it catches the afternoon sun perfectly, and after a day tramping around London, sitting out there with a cup of tea felt like exactly what I needed.
Location & Neighborhood
Aberdare Gardens is one of those Camden streets that locals know but tourists usually miss. You’re actually closer to West Hampstead than the grittier parts of Camden most people think of. The Jubilee line at West Hampstead is about a seven-minute walk — I timed it — which gets you to Bond Street in fifteen minutes. There’s a Tesco Express around the corner and a surprisingly good Lebanese place called Maroush just down the road that stays open late.
What Makes It Work
The whole setup feels refreshingly honest. There’s no fancy lobby or concierge trying to upsell you on tours, just clean, comfortable spaces that actually work for travelers. The kitchen area is properly equipped if you want to grab groceries and make breakfast, though honestly, the café culture around here is strong enough that I mostly just went out. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout — I worked from the terrace one morning without any issues.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sold me on this place? The quiet. London can be relentlessly noisy, but this street stays peaceful even during the day. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting genuine comfort without paying Zone 1 prices. It’s the kind of spot where you can actually imagine living for a week or two, not just surviving until checkout. Plus, that terrace really does make a difference — especially if you’re traveling in warmer months.
Best hotels in London blend skyline terraces, modern British style, and classic English breakfast spreads.

"Would love to stay again."
It was an excellent location. Very quiet but handy for some excellent restaurants (Nona's, Singapore Gardens), transport links and shops. Marta was an excellent host and very responsive to questions.

"Lovely neigbourhood, easy to get around"
We enjoyed the nice neighbourhood, and thanks to the diffeent subway, train and bus stops nearby it was really easy to get around.
The flat was comfortable, more than enough for a family of four like us, equipped with everything we needed durinf our stay.
It was also easy to communicate with the owners, and they were ready to help any time needed.

"Superb"
Excellent apartment, really close to all amenities. Shops and train stations all within walking distance. The area is very quiet, no street noises of a night time. There is a lovely terrace out from the living room which would be amazing during the summer months (unfortunately late October is not terrace weather!). The apartment is lovely and clean and instructions on how to get in and WiFi etc were sent prior to stay so that we were prepared. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a good little place to stay in to explore London. There were only two of us, but I'd say the apartment could easily accommodate a family of three.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was perfect for us.

"Spacious apartment with terrace, centrally located, but very quiet"
The apartment is very spacious. It is located in a quiet area of London, with a lovely roof terrace, where you can hear the birds sing. Finchley Road underground station is 10 mins walk, South Hampstead overground station is even closer by. Supermarkets and restaurants are also at walking distance.
What could be improved: The double bed in the main bedroom is a bit wobbly, has a very soft mattress and squeaks. It was okay for our kids, but not suitable for adults. Luckily the divan bed in the living room is very solid.
It is a lovely old property with high ceilings but it also means wooden floors, so you can hear the footsteps from the neighbours upstairs.
