First Impressions
When I first walked up to Amazing 2 Bed Wimbledon Flat on Cranbrook Road, I’ll be honest — the building itself doesn’t scream luxury from the outside. But step inside this four-star place and you get it immediately. The apartment feels like someone actually lives here, not like those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down and wrapped in plastic.
The Space Itself
This isn’t your typical cramped London rental situation. You’ve got two proper bedrooms, which means you can actually spread out — something that’s genuinely rare in London without paying through the nose. The kitchen is fully kitted out too, and I mean properly equipped, not just a kettle and a prayer. I ended up cooking a few meals because, well, London restaurant prices are what they are, and it was actually enjoyable rather than frustrating.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciated about staying here — you’re in Wimbledon, which means you’re not fighting the tourist crowds every time you step outside. The area feels residential but not boring, if that makes sense. There’s a decent pub about two minutes’ walk away, and the high street has everything you need without the Oxford Street madness. Getting into central London is straightforward enough on the District Line, though you know what the Tube’s like during rush hour.
Why It Actually Works
The thing about this place is that it solves the London accommodation problem in a way that most hotels don’t. You get space, you get a proper room to retreat to, and you’re not paying West End prices for the privilege. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing — everything worked when I tried it, the WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and there was actually decent water pressure in the shower (honestly, this shouldn’t be remarkable, but here we are).
Why Guests Love It
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of London places that promise the world and deliver a cupboard with delusions of grandeur. This isn’t that. It’s straightforward, comfortable, and gives you room to actually live for a few days rather than just survive. The 10 out of 10 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does well. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having your own front door key rather than dealing with hotel reception every time you come and go.
Best hotels in London blend skyline terraces, modern British style, and classic English breakfast spreads.
