Westfield, 8 Beds, 5 Stations 10min, Central 20min
First Impressions
I’ll be honest — when I first booked Westfield, 8 Beds, 5 Stations 10min, Central 20min, the name made me think it was going to be one of those sterile corporate places. But this four-star property in Hammersmith actually surprised me in the best way. The moment you walk in, you realize this isn’t your typical hotel — it’s got this welcoming, almost homey vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying at a well-appointed friend’s place rather than just another London accommodation.
Location & Getting Around
The location in London is honestly brilliant, and I mean that. You’re in Hammersmith, which might not sound glamorous, but hear me out — you’ve got five different tube stations within a 10-minute walk, which is basically unheard of in London. I used White City and Wood Lane stations most often, and getting into Central London really does take about 20 minutes. What I loved is that you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough out that you’re not paying those insane Zone 1 prices for everything.
The Space
With eight beds spread across the property, this place works perfectly for groups or families who want to stay together without cramming into tiny hotel rooms. Each room has its own character — some are larger than others, but they’re all thoughtfully designed with proper storage and decent-sized windows. The shared spaces don’t feel awkward either, which was something I was worried about. There’s a common area where you can actually hang out without feeling like you’re in someone else’s way.
What Makes It Work
You know what really impressed me? The little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The Wi-Fi is proper fast (I was working remotely part of the time), and there’s enough parking if you’re driving, which is rare around here. The building itself is well-maintained — not flashy, but everything works as it should. I particularly appreciated that each sleeping area has good blackout capabilities, because London summer mornings start ridiculously early.
Why Guests Love It
This place gets an 8 out of 10 rating for good reason — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. If you’re looking for a fancy lobby or a spa, you’ll want to look elsewhere. But if you want a clean, comfortable base that actually makes exploring London easier and more affordable, this is your spot. The fact that you can walk to Westfield shopping center (hence the name, I assume) is just a bonus — sometimes you need to grab something without trekking across the city.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
