West Finchley by Viridian Apartments
First Impressions
West Finchley by Viridian Apartments sits right on Nether Street, and honestly, it’s one of those places that looks better in person than you’d expect from the outside. The building has this modern, understated vibe — not flashy, but you can tell they’ve put thought into the details. When I walked in, the lobby felt more like a boutique hotel than typical serviced apartments, which was a pleasant surprise.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying in Finchley — you’re actually living like a local rather than being stuck in touristy central London. West Finchley tube station is literally a five-minute walk, and from there you can get to Oxford Circus in about 25 minutes. The neighborhood has this residential charm with tree-lined streets, and there’s a decent Tesco Express nearby for basics. Plus, you know what? Parking here isn’t the nightmare it is in most London areas.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment I stayed in was genuinely spacious by London standards — and I mean that. The kitchen actually functions like a real kitchen, not just a sad little corner with a kettle. Full-size fridge, proper oven, even a dishwasher. The living area has this clean, Scandinavian-inspired design that feels calm rather than sterile. My room had blackout curtains that actually worked, which is rarer than it should be in hotels these days.
Why It Works for Different Travelers
This four-star setup is perfect if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with family. I watched other guests — some were clearly business travelers who appreciated having space to spread out, others were families who could actually cook breakfast instead of spending £15 per person at a hotel restaurant. The building’s quiet enough that you’ll sleep well, but you’re not isolated from London life.
Why Guests Love It
The value here is real — you’re getting apartment-style space and amenities without paying central London prices. The staff knows their stuff about the area and can point you toward good local spots (there’s a brilliant Indian place called Sakonis just down the road that most tourists never find). It’s the kind of place where you can actually unpack your suitcase and settle in, rather than living out of a bag for your entire London stay.
Apartments in London suit families with bright bay windows, full kitchens, and sunset loops through Hyde Park paths.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
