Overview
First Impressions
Victoria Mews Hoxton Shoreditch sits quietly on Kingsland Road, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s one of those unassuming three-star places that doesn’t shout for your attention — which, in this part of London, actually works in its favor. The building has that classic Victorian charm you’d expect from the name, but with a modern twist that fits right into the creative chaos of Shoreditch.
The Neighborhood Vibe
You know what I love about this spot? You’re literally in the heart of East London’s creative scene without dealing with the tourist crowds that swamp areas like Covent Garden. Step out the door and you’ve got Brick Lane’s curry houses just a short walk away, plus all those independent galleries and vintage shops that make Shoreditch actually interesting. The area can get a bit rowdy on weekend nights — fair warning if you’re a light sleeper — but that’s part of the authentic East London experience.
Your Room
The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly designed, which seems to be the theme with most London hotels these days. What impressed me was how they managed to fit everything you need without it feeling cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range place, and the little touches — decent lighting, actual hangers that don’t break — showed someone was thinking about what travelers actually need. The bathroom was clean and modern, though you’ll want to master the art of the small shower space pretty quickly.
Practical Stuff
Here’s where things get interesting — parking is available, which is honestly rare in this part of London and worth mentioning if you’re driving. The staff were genuinely helpful when I needed restaurant recommendations, not just the usual tourist traps but places locals actually go to. There’s no fancy spa or elaborate amenities, but you get reliable WiFi and a decent breakfast spread that’ll set you up for a day of exploring.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most Instagram-worthy hotel you’ve ever stayed in, but it gets the fundamentals right. You’re paying for location and comfort, not marble lobbies or rooftop bars. The value here is being able to walk to Columbia Road Flower Market on Sunday mornings, or catch late-night shows at venues that most visitors never hear about. It’s perfect for travelers who want to experience London’s creative side without the West End prices — and honestly, that’s exactly what this part of the city is all about.

Everything that I could need was available for use. Very clean kitchen, which other guests left in good, clean condition. Lovely bathroom facilities & bedroom. I would definitely use this place again & also recommend it to others.

"Nice little property close to all the amenities in Shoreditch"
Great location close to all the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch
What could be improved: Slight bit of road noise from the room but really not that bad.

"Superb"
I've stayed here a couple of times at this point. Room is very good value for the price; I've stayed in hotels twice the price with a room half the size.
What could be improved: Second time there weren't keys in the box, but they were able to take my call even though it was ~10pm and help me get in. One of the bathroom's door doesn't close

"Very good"
Location is perfect if you are going to hang around East London. Spacious bedroom. Good heating. No noises at all from the street in my room.
What could be improved: Nothing major. Just a reminder that you are sharing a flat with other people, so sometimes someone will bang the door or will be noisy coming up the stairs, but that is to be expected. Same as for cleaning standards after people have used the kitchen or toilet (it won't be perfect)

"Handy urban location for short stay"
Great location, room was comfortable
What could be improved: Wasn't really clear if there were common products to use in the bathroom. Also, there was an Airtag in the room key which I was alerted to by my phone. I get that people lose keys and they are expensive but not sure how I feel about all my movements being tracked!

"Superb"
Very good position, close to hoxton station, market, ethnic restaturants and many bus stops. Very quiet in the evening. Room very silent.
What could be improved: Just few details, like missing a small lamp near bed. Not clear also equipment in bathroom and kitchen, if personal or available for guests.

"Great value for money and would stay there again."
Location was ideal. Room was clean and tidy. Cleaner came in every day and was very efficient, helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: Only had central light in room h2. A side light by the bed would improve the facilities of that room.
