Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to 7VH Virginia House, 31 Bloomsbury Way By City Living London, you’ll immediately notice it’s not your typical hotel setup — this is more like stepping into a stylish apartment building in one of London’s most intellectual neighborhoods. The entrance has that understated elegance you find in converted Georgian buildings, and honestly, the location on Bloomsbury Way puts you right in the heart of everything without the chaos of Oxford Street just around the corner.
The Bloomsbury Advantage
You know what’s brilliant about staying here? You’re literally surrounded by some of London’s best museums and parks, but it doesn’t feel touristy. The British Museum is a three-minute walk away, and Russell Square — one of London’s loveliest garden squares — is practically next door. I mean, you can grab your morning coffee and actually sit somewhere peaceful before diving into the city’s madness. The area has this academic vibe with all the university buildings nearby, which gives it character beyond the usual hotel district feel.
The Living Space
The apartment I stayed in felt more like a friend’s well-appointed flat than a hotel room. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen setup — not just a sad mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual cooking facilities if you want to prepare something. The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s period features. Large windows let in plenty of light (crucial in London, let’s be honest), and the furnishings feel thoughtfully chosen rather than mass-produced hotel standard.
Practical London Living
What really sold me on this place was how it handles the practical stuff that can make or break a London stay. The four-star rating feels accurate — it’s polished and comfortable without being stuffy or overpriced. Parking in central London is usually a nightmare, but they’ve sorted that out if you need it. The building’s quiet too, which is impressive considering you’re in Zone 1. Sometimes you forget you’re in the middle of one of the world’s busiest cities until you step outside.
Why Guests Love It
This setup works particularly well if you’re staying more than just a night or two — having that kitchen means you can stock up at the nearby Sainsbury’s and not blow your budget on every meal out. The Bloomsbury location gives you easy access to multiple tube lines without feeling like you’re camping out in a transport hub. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re actually living in London for a bit, rather than just passing through as another tourist.
To book hotel in London for fashion week buzz, travelers reserve early to pair Westminster sunrise walks with evening pub rituals.

"The stay was overall wonderful."
The property was very nice, spacious, comfortable and clean. The area is also very nice, close to bus stop, restaurants, yet not very crowded.
What could be improved: The only non positive comment I have is the fact that it doesn’t have a lift. We were on the 4th floor, and it was a lot of stairs. Just not convenient for elderly, and when you have luggage.

"Perfect family trip"
The location is perfect. We were able to reach any point of the city with max 5 min walk to local transportation hubs.
What could be improved: Maybe that there wasn’t a lift, but it was a small price to pay for the perfect location.

"Great place that’s central and fits multiple people"
Location was central to everything. Close to shops, trains everything
What could be improved: The stairs but we were fully aware of the climb. The location made it worthwhile

"It was a wonderful stay."
The location is amazing. One can easily walk to many sights, a bus station and the tube stations Tottenham Court Road and Holborn are very close. The apartment is suitable for six, it’s clean, the beds are comfortable. The staff is really helpful and friendly.

"Well-located, spacious flat."
The flat was very comfortable and provided ample space for our group of five adults.
The location worked out great. Several tube stops were close by, and it was a short (less than 15 min) walk to Covent Garden, Soho, the West End, and Chinatown.
There were lots of choices for restaurants, coffee shops , and pubs in every direction.
As others have pointed out and the listing makes clear the flat is a penthouse and requires climbing four flights. This was not a problem for us and provided some additional exercise that we probably needed anyway.
The staff was friendly and accommodating and communication was prompt and polite.
We hope not too many others discover this spot so that there is availability when we next return.

"A very well-located and equipped flat for a family stay in London."
We travelled as a family of four adults and so the space available in this apartment was perfect. The bedrooms are relatively spacious and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The kitchen is practical and well-equipped - a family wanting to save money not eating everything out could easily prepare meals here. With easy access to multiple lines across two different tube stations, it is in a great spot to be able to get to and from anywhere in London easily and it is convenient to a supermarket multiple pubs and cafes and a perfect spot for going to see West End shows. It is also deceptively quiet inside the apartment, despite the busy road outside, and being on the top floor there is no need to worry about the noise of anyone walking around in the flat above. The owners were very accommodating with an earlier check-in time.
What could be improved: Just a few very minor things that people might want to be aware of in making their choice: The advertisement does make it clear that there are stairs. Take the warning seriously if that is not your thing (we didn't mind), as they are three steep flights and a fourth inside the apartment itself. The advertisement does say there is a dryer but there is a washer only. And we found the heating a little tricky - although that might be because we are not used to that style of radiator heating - but we found it quite hard to regulate at night and were often left too hot.
