Overview
First Impressions
VESTO Shoreditch sits on a quiet corner of Nile Street, which honestly surprised me — you’d expect more buzz given how close it is to the heart of Shoreditch’s creative chaos. The building has this sleek, understated vibe that doesn’t scream for attention, but once you’re inside, you realize that’s exactly the point. This four-star hotel knows what it’s doing.
The Neighborhood Feel
What I love about this spot is how it captures the real Shoreditch energy without being right in the thick of the madness on Old Street. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Boxpark and all those trendy coffee shops everyone raves about, but when you want to escape back to your room, there’s actually some peace and quiet. The area around Nile Street has this mix of converted warehouses and newer builds — it feels authentically East London without trying too hard.
The Space Itself
The rooms here are what I’d call “smartly designed” rather than huge. You know how some hotels waste space with awkward layouts? Not here. Everything feels purposeful, from the built-in storage to the way they’ve positioned the desk near the window. The tech setup actually works too — USB ports where you need them, decent Wi-Fi, and lighting that doesn’t make you look like you’re in a horror film during video calls.
Food and Daily Rhythms
The restaurant downstairs does this interesting thing where they focus on seasonal British ingredients but don’t get all stuffy about it. I mean, the breakfast situation alone sold me — proper coffee (not that weak hotel stuff), and they actually know how to cook eggs. Plus, there’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone food-wise.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about VESTO Shoreditch — it gets the balance right between being stylish and being livable. You’re not paying extra for marble everything or a rooftop pool you’ll never use. Instead, you get solid comfort, a staff that seems genuinely helpful rather than just polite, and that rare hotel quality where you can actually relax. The 8.4 guest rating makes sense when you experience how they’ve thought through the small stuff that matters to people who travel regularly.

"Enjoyed"
The location and the facilities.
What could be improved: The bed mattress is not comfortable. Needs replacement.
A smell in the bathroom, most probably from the sink in the bathroom.

"Great London flat for a fun week in London walking distance to cool spots if you like walking"
Great Value
What could be improved: Great location once you know how to find it that was a big issue! Hidden off the street and no lights to see the number

"Great location, spacious and comfortable."
Great location, plenty of room and very quiet at night.
What could be improved: To over looked in the living room as no curtains at the patio doors. Wouldn’t be an issue if you were out in the evening but as we had a child we were.

"Changing the flat from the 1st floor to 3rd one without telling any reason one day before of arrival"
The location was fine. There is a bus stop close to the house.
What could be improved: One day before we arrive to the apartment, they changed our flat from 1st to 3rd floor. We were not be informed even for the reason. There is no lift. They did know that we were arriving with 2 small children and luggages. It was hard to bring the things to the 3rd floor. We had many difficulties going everytime we go out with baby stroller. We had no chance to arrange any other place exactly one day before from the arrival. It is not an acceptable situation. So i do not advise especially for the families with small children.

"Good location and reasonably priced. A few tweaks needed."
Great location for us as we arrived into Paddington Station and it was one bus ride away. Good transport links, bus and tube routes. Ideal place to stay for spending time in the City of London.
Good communication from the owners.
Good quality towels and toiletries.
What could be improved: Advertised with a concierge and luggage storage facilities, but no evidence of this.
The shower door needed to be lifted to close it as the runners don't work properly. As the water didn't drain away efficiently, and the shower tray has a small lip, the bathroom floor around the shower flooded quite easily. Not sure if the drain was blocked. Also not particularly clean at bottom of shower door.
TV reception very poor.

"Could be better"
The place was clean and new.
What could be improved: The bed was the worst I’ve ever slept in, so uncomfortable. Also no potholders to take things out of the oven. No paper towels or dishcloths while cooking. I needed help to run the cook too and it took over 25 hours to get an answer. Great if you don’t mind the bed and don’t plan to cook. My key reason for renting this was to be able to cook my own meals. I threw a lot of food away.
