Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Urban Rest Camden on Bayham Place, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away just enough to feel like your own discovery, but close enough to Camden’s action that you can hear the distant hum of the market. The building itself has this modern boutique vibe that somehow doesn’t clash with the Victorian terraces around it. Honestly, the four-star rating feels about right — it’s polished without being stuffy.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot: you’re basically a five-minute walk from Camden Market, but you don’t have to deal with the tourist crowds right outside your door. Camden Town station is close enough that you can easily hop on the Northern line, and if you fancy a walk, Regent’s Park is just down the road. The neighborhood has this great mix — you’ve got your classic Camden weirdness alongside some genuinely good local pubs and cafes that most visitors never find.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly designed — you know how some hotel rooms feel cramped? This didn’t. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given), and they’ve got those little touches that matter: proper blackout curtains, decent lighting for reading, and — thank goodness — enough power outlets. The bathroom was modern and clean, though admittedly on the smaller side. Storage space was limited, but honestly, if you’re staying in Camden, you’re probably not here to hang around your room all day.
Service & Amenities
The staff here seem to actually know the area, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about good places to eat that weren’t tourist traps, the front desk guy gave me three solid recommendations — and he was right about all of them. There’s no fancy restaurant on-site, but given the food scene around Camden, that’s hardly a problem. The WiFi was reliable, and they sorted out my early check-in without any fuss.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Urban Rest Camden work is that it gets the balance right. You’re staying somewhere clean, comfortable, and well-located without paying central London hotel prices. It’s the kind of place that lets you experience Camden properly — close enough to dive into the markets and music venues, but with a quiet base to retreat to. I mean, you could spend twice as much staying in Zone 1 and then spend your days traveling back to Camden anyway. Sometimes the smart choice is also the better choice.
To book a hotel in London during opera season, visitors plan ahead to balance Royal Opera House nights with quiet Regent’s Canal strolls.

"Superb"
The instructions to get in were clear and easy. The apartment was clean, comfortable, very modern and well lit. The kitchen had everything we needed, even salt, pepper and oil! Plus, they even provided some snacks for us. :-)
The location was great - very close to restaurants, food shopping and public transportation.
What could be improved: Complaints: There were no paper towels or ice cube trays so we couldn't make ice. Also, there is no live TV available on the television.
Lastly, unfortunately, our unit was on the first floor and directly next to the street. We absolutely could not open our window. It was very noisy right outside our bedroom window early in the morning, with truck deliveries and garbage pick-up. If we had been located somewhere else, we would not have had this issue.

"Great comfy stay in a modern Camden apt."
Well appointed apartment with a well stocked kitchen, soft towels, great closet, amazing modern bathroom and floor heating. Enjoyed the stay. The rain shower was delightful. The table was perfect for working. Tons of food choices nearby and many transportation options. Had a fan, a washer dryer, a drying rack, etc.
What could be improved: Not much. Being just behind Koko there was a little noise from those leaving the venue but not enough to disturb. The bedroom door deadened any street noise.

"Great location, in proximity to public transportation, all possible facilities are nearby"
Modern, but comfortable outlay, clean, stylish apartment.
What could be improved: Not so important, but being on upper floor has it’s own up and down sides.

Spacious, clean, crisp modern design. Great facilities. Super location for Camden and tube access. Easy walk from Kings Cross.
What could be improved: Nothing really- perhaps too many light switches..The boiler acted up on our last night but we were still ok for hot water.
